    Five o Clock shodow look

    I was wonder want was the best technique to use to get that stubble look when painting a head.

    I usually use one of two approaches... I mix just a tad of black or brown with the base flesh paint and paint it in.


    Another cool technique (sorry no pix) is to use black paint and mix in some clear hand sanitizer (weird I know), but the alcohol thins the paint and then evaporates leaving a very thin layer of color.

        I think every response with a picture will be Punisher. I'm in that camp too. I used a dry brush technique. It creates a rougher surface look but tends to simulate real facial hair. David's suggestion is probably the way to go, though. Just don't mix too much dark color in with the flesh, keep it subtle.
