    NECA announces 8" Freddy and Jason

    Randy Falk of NECA recently tweeted something that will likely make Mego and Horror fans happy: Horror & retro fans alike. Finally “Mego style” versions of Freddy & Jason are coming this Halloween. 8″ poseable w accessories. When asked what Mego style was, he tweeted this: 70s style figural doll w fabric clothing very retro kitsch “@allie_qat26: @NECA_TOYS what is “Mego style” ?” Never thought of ourselves as Kitsch before (seriously) but it’s nice to see them getting back on the horse after the Django silliness.               That's a WIN! I knew Django wasn't a "one and done".... This is great, the more in the 8 inch arena the better I say...

                      I have been thinking they had a stockpile of bodies (since the Django stupidity), and would eventually find another outlet for them.

                              Yes, that was my first thought as well. Haven't we already had Freddy Kreuger toys famously banned because of "think of the children" advocates?

                              Maybe NECA is putting their 1:9 advertising budget into protesters...

                                      Ironically, these probably won't cause a stink at all. Because a hideously burned and resurrected murdering pedophile is much better than a freed and empowered slave.

                                      But seriously, this type of stuff has been hanging on the shelves at TRU for some time, so it probably WON'T raise an eyebrow.

                                                      Aren't EMCE's Universal Monsters figures (Phantom of the Opera and Metaluna Mutant) coming out in time for Halloween as well? If so, plus Jason and Freddy, Halloween is gonna ROCK.
