Any way lets have a sound of for how many western fans we have here;
Name your favorite western Actor,Film,TV,comic and western mego/mego like fig.

I'll start.

Actor in a western has got to be Eastwood
Fav film I'm going to say The good, the bad and the ugly
Bonanza is my fav TV show
Comic I'm a die hard Jonah Hex fan I make no bones about that
My fav American western fig is a tie between Earp and wild bill...I can't choose had them both as a kid and they went everywhere with Kirk and Spock... :smiley1:

I absolutely LOVE Westerns.

Shane, High Noon, Red River, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, the Good/Bad/Ugly, Fistful of Dollars, The Wild Bunch, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Butch Cassidy and the Sunshine Kid, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, and on...and on...and on.

My favorite Western film actors are John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.

My favorite television Western stuff...Lonesome Dove.

I can't pinpoint my absolute favorite Western...but it's probably Shane.

Out of the newer Western flicks...I love Unforgiven, Tombstone, Dances with Wolves, Wyatt Earp (Kevin Costner), Open Range, 3:10 to Yuma (I love the original too), and Appaloosa.

I love the Young Guns movies. They did a great job of pulling in all the myths surrounding Billy the Kid into one (well, two) packages. Good stuff.

I'm a big western fan. Lonesome Dove (and I consider this a movie, even thought it was a mini-series just because of the caliber of actors) is probably my all time favorite. Love Tombstone. John Wayne has always been a favorite as well.

The American West figures have become my favorite Mego line. I wish there were more. They are the only figures I've started to collect boxed.

Love westerns, my DVD collection contains some open range masterpieces! Here are some of my favorites in no particular order.

Favorite Actors - John Wayne, James Stewart, Gary Cooper, Clint Eastwood, Robert Mitchum, Charles Bronson & Henry Fonda

Films – The Magnificent Seven, El Dorado, Winchester 73, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, High Noon, The Cowboys, The Good, Bad & Ugly, Chisum & The Sons of Katie Elder.

Newer Films – Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, Young Guns, 3:10 to Yuma

T.V. – The Riflemen (Chuck was awesome in that), Wild, Wild West, Bonanza.

Even though John Wayne was your most rugged and commanding Cowboy, there was a silent strength that came through when James Stewart was on screen so I would say they were my all time favorites!

I love the westerns too.
For actors, I'd say Eastwood, Van Cleef, McQueen, Bronson, Wayne, (oh heck, I like 'em all) And what where we would be without Walter Brennan!

I catch various stuff on Encore Western from time to time. I watch Maverick almost every day so there you go for TV series. Movie I'd go with the one with Kirk Douglas and Henry Fonda. Can't remember the name off hand.

I can't get enough of this stuff! It's my favorite search on netflix and I constantly have my TV tuned to Encore Westerns! John Wayne is my favorite (although I'm always discovering more western stars that are just as talented but not as popular) and I've hardly recognized Ken Curtis in "The Alamo, The Horse Soldiers and of course, The Searchers" (which is my favorite Western). I've just recently discovered shows like Maverick and Cheyenne Bodie, and grew up on Daniel Boone (fav). And any Western Fan should check out Johnny Cash's music. That's pretty much most of what he wrote. He was a huge Gene Autry fan and carried that with him through is career. example (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM9wJYV25nQ)

Here are nice couple links for your entertainment.

Just in case you didn't know what happened to them or wanted to meet some old western stars. Those old westerns (http://oldfortyfives.com/thoseoldwesterns.htm).

Ken Curtis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWR6FLnPack) (was like James Doohan as far as the man with many accents. And I always thought he was just Festus).

Movie-The Tall T (hard to find but a great newer Randolph Scott with Richard Boone as the worst villian ever)... also love John Ford/Wayne The Searchers
T.V- Bonanza/Daniel Boone (kinda western)
Comic-anything with Vigilante (not quite Old, but definitely Western)
American West fig-More of a Marx figs fan, followed by LR, with Mego as a far 3rd, but I do like the Davy Crockett figure

Magnificent Seven.
A great movie, perfect in every way, with a dream cast.
Add to that the legendary soundtrack.

Ok, so it's based on a japanese classic, but I still think it's the greatest western ever made.

I hope so.

As a life long western fan, I think it's awesome. It shows just how much hatred, some of the settlers had for indians. I equally think Broken Arrow is awesome for the reason that it shows another other point of view. (That of the Native American Indians).

Great movie! Great cast. That's from when TNT was doing a good western a year.

My dad reared me on westerns. Favorites would be Unforgiven, Outlaw Josey Wales, Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Tombstone, Open Range, The Shootist, Shane, Lonesome Dove (which definitely transcended TV)...the list could go on, but those come to mind first. Not QUITE a western, but I do like Dances with Wolves. Great movie, despite some of Costner's later misfires.

Favorite western TV show? Well besides the Lone Ranger, I always liked Gunsmoke. Liked Bonanza okay, and although I only saw a few episodes, I always liked James Garner, so Maverick would have probably been up there, had it been syndicated more near me as a kid.

Well, I don't like any movies, but I like The Big Valley, Kung Fu, Daniel Boone, and the Filmation Lone Ranger cartoon. I loved Lee Majors as Heath Barkley, and David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine. (RIP)

BTW...are anyone's kids into Westerns? Most kids aren't these days. Though my class does like the Filmation Lone Ranger series.

I think I'm pretty lucky, I don't know to many youg girls who do that?.....

Reminds me of when George Reeves met the little green martians. I liked that but THAT was Superman. Westerns aren't supposed to be quite so far fetched. Oh well.
