IS THERE A WAY .... ? pm question

I just noticed I had a PM, and for all I know it could have been there a while but I just happened upon it by accident.
I miss how the old forum used to flash when a new message comes in.
Is there a way to make this board flash like the old one ?

If you have Java enabled, it should pop up when you first login to the board. You might check your options in case you've accidentally turned that off.

You can also have it e-mail you when a PM comes in.

I also didn't notice the pm I had until I saw this thread about not notcing PM's.

I guess I'm still getting used to this place.

BTW, to enable Java, where do I find "options" to do this. I miss the flas, too.
