I bought a few when they first came out because I thought they were the nicest reditions of most of the characters I'd ever seen.

I love Plas, Green Arrow, Batman, Hawkman... I would love to get my hands on Shazam though. I never saw him in the stores or I would have him as well. I pick them up whenever I see them at flea markets and such. I traded off my GL. Should have kept him but I really want Shazam.

The Super Powers line was so well done, it'd be easier to pick the few figures I thought they kind of did subpar. Captain Marvel (Shazam) seemed kind of rushed. His hair wasn't really sculpted. That's about my only complaint! I remember thinking how cool it was to finally have figures of Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkman. Hawkman is a beauty for sure.

Best Batmobile ever made is the SP model. And the Hall of Justice is my favorite playset of all time.

I just basically like the "big guns" best.

GREEN LANTERN, BATMAN, AQUAMAN, PLASTIC MAN, SHAZAM, JOKER, LEX
SUPES and GREEN ARROW are my favorites---geez I wish WONDER WOMAN was
not as chunky in appearance.

Plus...there's so many that they could've done that they didn't.

DC DIRECT addressed many of them, but that SP 3 and 3/4 inch scale will always
be my favorite for "no material clothing" plastic action figures

I'd have to say Green Lantern, The Flash, Hawkman, Lex Luthor and Brainiac....not just because they look so damn cool but because they're the figures that Mego DIDN'T do.

This is one of my all-time favorite lines. I was well out of toys in '84 but when I saw this line advertised on the back of a comic book I just couldn't believe someone was actually not only making Batman and Superman but Hawkman, Green Lantern and Penguin. I actually bought them when they finally showerd up in stores and I believe this line got me to thinking about my beloved Megos for the first time in years.

I did have all but 3 figures carded and all the accessories and playsets MIB at one time but have sold everything over the years. I've since accquired a complete set loose and Cyborg and Mantis MOC. I tried to sell them at MegoMeet but had no takers so maybe I'll try and complete a carded set. Who knows.

They are all my favorites...

green lantern and the flash are the best imo. much better line than megos own pocket heroes or comic action heroes.

^ Are you kiddin' me? He was a horrible Legion of Super-Heroes villain that should have never even been considered for the Super Powers line....Bleech!

The pair of Clark Kent and Superman are among my favorite toys. I keep them together in a Fossil watch Superman Telephone booth. But I didn't pick up on these until they were long gone. I think I started getting them in 1990.

By the time that the Super Powers figures came out I was long out of toys. Was it 1984? I was a junior in high school that year. I recall seeing the figures in Toys R Us and being quite impressed with the looks of them.

Thanksgiving week of 1986 I was vacationing at my parents' timeshare in Shawnee-on-Delaware, PA. One day I took my brothers and a friend to the K-Mart in East Stroudsburg, PA. We had never been to one or had ever seen one but my youngest brother, age 10, wanted to go there because the ads for the second & third waves of AWA wrestling action figures mentioned that they were available at K-Mart. My brother went ape**** because K-Mart had all of the AWA figures and he was able to get all of the ones he needed/wanted. While strolling around the toy section I came upon a bin of the Super Powers action figures. They were all lined up in the bin like comic books would be in storage boxes, they weren't on pegs. I noticed that the price tags had lines through them and handwritten on the tags were $1.00. I grabbed up one of each and as I walked to the cashiers, my friend was was looking at me and shaking his head. So I turned around and put the figures back in their bin. I forget how many I had in my arms but I do know it was most all of the "normal" DC heroes and villains. Nothing like Golden Pharoah or Cyclotron.

I always kick myself in the *** for not buying them. When Toy Biz released their action figures in 1989 using the Kenner molds I jumped all over them. But it just wasn't the same. Somewhere along the way I did acquire two Canadian packaged Super Powers of Superman and Flash. I think I still have them somewhere still on their cards.

Green Lantern turned out the best ~ Batman was good as well. Loved the Batmobile. I just need to pick up GA, 1st issue Robin (slightly different than the later issues..), and an Aquaman..

Love this line I was older and didn't care! I still have my Green Lantern,Flash and Superman from when they first came out. I've added many over the years although I haven't completed the line. Probably my favorite line of figures from the 80's.

great thing about this line is that they're relatively inexpensive and easy to complete compared to megos!!

yeah, super powers were alot nicer than marvels secret wars. don't get me wrong secret wars is the only marvel line from the 1980's and did make the first x-men figures (magneto, iceman, wolverine) but super powers made twice as many figures and jack kirby designed some of the packages.

I really liked Shazam! & Aquaman. Of the later waves, Samurai was cool.

I remember being fascinated by Wonder Woman's action feature and disappointed with Penguin's blue hat & coat.

But I have a complete collection of them and love 'em--they filled my toy craving after Mego folded.

I've been thinking about it and can't pick a favorite Super Powers figure. I loved most of them (especially the 1st wave) and the Hall of Justice, not to mention the Batmobile.

At one point I owned three complete sets. They used to be a little cheaper to get than they are now. I know longer have these sets as I sold them off but have started collecting again. I have collected 10 figures in mint condition in about a month thanks to fellow member Starsky. I also picked up a mint red tornado, dr. fate, superman, and firestorm in mint condtion with comics for 50.00. I am still hoping to get more especially aquaman and green arrow. They are my favorites.
