Scott, I have been waiting for this since you unveiled the Dida displays. It's looking great. Really nice job piecing those scenes together. I plan to order one as soon as they are available.

Agreed with everyone else... This is pretty slick...
I know it's probably too early to even give an estimated date, but do you know when you might have this ready for sale?

Thanks, all. I really like the hand drawn art on the original Mego sets and wanted to try to push that. I love the thick lines they used on the village.
Check out the reference. (http://megomuseum.com/projects/pota/index.html) My painting is a bit more involved--they did these things with markers back then. I would be surprised if the artist who did the village spent more than a day on it. So I'm trying to stay loose.
I'm envisioning a fairly large set---two levels with two side rooms--all folding into a carry case--so there's lots more art to make, too early to tell when it'd be ready.

Looks great! I know I'll be ordering one.

Let's see...courtroom? kennel? Zaius' office? Outdoor stadium (discovery of Landon; Ursus' speech in Beneath)? Outdoor pen?

I'd have to agree. Many moons ago, when I first got out of college, I worked in advertising doing conceptual design. Basically doing marker rendered mock-ups to pitch to clients. Man I miss old-timey hands on design! I sometimes wonder if kids still have to learn about markers in design programs. I doubt it.
I loved the Forbidden zone set when I was a kid, and when I finally got a new one this year I was blown away by the sweet, clearly fast as hell, marker artwork. Two levels of completely different nostalgia in one toy... awesome.
The set looks fantastic Scott, can't wait to see more!

Oh swweeeeet! Very impressive. In the other parts, maybe the council chambers, Zira's lab, Urko's security office, a jail? I dunno. But whatever you fashion for this playset I'm sure will be cool.
