    is Green Lantern for Kids?

I am going to GL Sunday. We want to take Eleanor and Lily. I don't mind comic book action violence. i don't mind kissy parts.

    is it OK?

a measuring stick i thought Iron Man 1 was not OK (real world terrorism, torture, casual sex, gunpoint to head while son watches.) I thought IM 2 was OK (violence but easily separated from real world, innuendos.)

hmmm not sure, kissy parts yes, no casual sex, a needle held to a womans neck, alot of people dieing by paralax is probably the worst in the film for kids

It's hard to say man ..
There's Adult humor in the Film ...
      Some Kissy/ Relationship stuff ...
The Arsehole word was dropped twice ...

Hector Hammond .. might freak them out ...

I took my 11 year Old son, who was completely fine with everything.

NO real World Type Choatic Theme's though ..., it's Fantasy. Sci-Fi meets Comics.

      I think it's pg-13 ...
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

I took my 9-year old. There is some sexual innuendo, and of course there's the scene in the trailer where Hal wakes up with random girl and rushes off to work. There are some curse words too. But overall I'd say it's pretty tame. Not any worse than any random episode of Smallville, other than a bit of language.

I've never had a problem taking my kids to see any of these comic book movies...you have to know your kid and have faith in your ability as a parent...

Parallax and Hammond might be too scary for younger kids, you can see them in the trailer and online pics to judge for yourself. I wouldn't take my niece and nephew (ages 4 and 6) for example.

As much as I enjoyed Batman Begins and Dark Knight, these two movies will have to wait a few years til my 5 and 6 year old are ready to see them...And I think that these two movies more than any other comic book movie have made this question necessary...

Meanwhile I don't think I am old enough to watch Batman and Robin by Shu-mockery.

Thor is perfect for kids. My 6 year old daughter has seen it twice with me. I need to watch Green Lantern first before I take her. She wanted to see X-Men first class badly. Thank God I went to watch it first and then had to turn her down. No way could she see that.
If you're a fan of old-school toys, toons and comics then my blog is the place for you!!!

i agree with First Class - my kids can't watch it yet.

i am throwing caution to the wind (perhaps regrettably) and taking the kids.

                      Wisely said.

Now that I have seen it (errantly WITH a 4 and 7 year old) I must say that parallal and hammond are terrifying.

Perhaps O should heed my own advice and view movie before taking my kids.

On the upside the 7 year old said she liked it, the 4 year old has not shown any signs of trama and tickets were cheaper than a babysitter.

Oh and we had fun dressing up:

Cool outfits, assuming you made them yourselves? Excellent job!

My 9 year old thought the villains were a little scary, but she didn't stop peeking at them nor did she want to leave. Wasn't really any worse than you'd see on Doctor Who I thought.

i made the Gleek, and GL. Lily made her own Jade. I bought Zan and Jayna for $30 each online.

my 7 y/o was moderately so, yeah a 9 y/o i would say would be fine. 4y/o -no.
