Nasty stuff...and for what purpose? More destruction from Dan Death-Didio.

I just don't understand how far James Robinson has fallen either. From Starman to this? Sad.

^ Yeah it doesn't even seem possible that Starman was written by the same guy now does it?

Ollie's got an Arc comming up ..., something about the Rise and Fall of Green Arrow...., I was thinking about picking it up ...., BTW..., Green Arrow # 30 was a Blackest Night tie in ..., and that Book was Fantastic imo..., 1 of the best Tie-in stories with BL to date imo.

The only real problem I had with the series was that it was too long. The story could have been done well in 2 or 3 issues without all the filler. What was the point of forming a new team if it was going to fold into the regular JLA book anyway?

I really have a feeling the meltdown of Green Arrow was melded onto Robinson's JLA run late in the game, and they turned it into a miniseries rather than an ongoing to set up the Green Arrow goes to prison arc.

I'm assuming this is going to follow the plot Goyer had for a Green Arrow movie where Ollie goes to prison and escapes. It could be fun if it's well executed.

My main issue with the whole thing is that it took away the one thing that made Roy/Speedy/Arsenal an interesting character and I'm not talking about his arm. Why not just kill him off to decrease the redundancy around Green Arrow.

They could have set up GA going to jail in another way.

              +++++++++++++++++++++SPOILER++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++

It doesn't really offend me that a character was killed. It's fiction. Happens in movies and books all the time. But again, I think Roy was a better character prior to what happened in the final issue than now, with both arms or not. A single super-hero father is interesting, particularly when the child's mom is one of the most dangerous women in the world.

I'm guessing because of deadlines, they ended up doing an art jam, so the original series artist only has a couple of pages in the final issue.

Killed a potential legacy kid, destroyed Star City, and they waste a perfectly good villain in Prometheus, too. DIDio must go.

Good lord, what did they do? Spoil me. I'm going to be mad about it anyway.

EDITED TO ADD: Never mind. I just read it on the "DC Source Blog"

The DCU has no soul. Wholesale slaughter, especially of children? Give me my back issues.

What happened to the new direction of Brightest Day? Obviously DC editorial is still not on the same page then.....

Considering the amount of crap James Robinson has just dumped on the Green Arrow "franchise" I find myself longing for the days of <shudder> Judd Winnick on the title!

The Brightest Day ended on January 1, 1985, when Crisis began. It's been all downhill from there.

Issue # 7 in my opinion, was really great, who could brlieve what ga did. wow, it was shocking, yes. However, considering wehat happened to him, his family hiscity, the league as well as other heros, what he did was justified. I love what he did, and can not judge him, I will take his side on the matter.

Justice League Cry for Justice was to be an on going book, however for some reason or another, it was decided that robinson would take over the regular JLA book, so, this story line and heroes were incorporated into the regular book and the cry one was turned into a mini. To bad cause, I really love the art in that book. However, I do agree, that keeping the artist would delay the regular boo and this would lead to to many problems with delays which would has contributed to the demise of the title.
