    Gabrielle (Xena) Custom

I finally finished my 12" Xena and Gabrielle customs recently. The Xena is just a Get Real Girls figure that I used a Toy Fare costume on. But the Gabrielle figure is a Skipper body and the outfit is hand made including the boots. Which by the way are real leather. The staff needs some more work, but I'm pleased with the design on it.

(okay I hope I do this right.)

Nice work, I didn't know Toybiz made a 12" figure.

Thanks. Yes, Toybiz made 12” figures of Xena, Gabrielle, Callisto and Ares. In fact, there are 4 Xena figures, 3 Gabrielles and 1 each of Ares and Callisto. The first Xena and Gabrielle figures had horrible head sculpts but they went back and redid them for the other figures.

Thanks Dave. The top was a bear to stitch all that detail on.

Those are some really neat customs. Heck of a job on the boots. You need to post a tutorial on making them, so we with non- leather working skills might give it a try

I can try to come up with something, but the boots were tough. I want to make 8" Xena and Gabrielle figures but I don't think I can make the boots in leather, on that small a scale leather is really hard to work with. In fact, I've found some nice looking woven seude that might work and will be a lot easier to sew.

I made an 8" Xena and Argo back in March (the link is here, on the old Customs board:
The Mego Forum has Moved to: - Xena, Warrior Princess, with Argo) and used "pleather", but it can be very fragile and hard to work with. But with patience, it can be done. Suede might be a good choice.

By the way, that's a good likeness to Argo.

That is really amazing detail in the costume and very accurate. Great work. Thanks for sharing it.
