    Wanted: Dragons!!!

    Hiya folks,

Took the boy to the Train Your Dragon flick this weekend and had a swell time. Fun movie and very full of eyeball candy for those that enjoy cgi 3d.

After the flick, we stopped by a McDonald's in the hopes that they were promoting this movie and they sure are!! They have a whole gaggle of dragons for the meal toys, and they DON'T MAKE NOISE. Awesome. At least the two that we got didn't have sound chips in them.

However, we don't go to McDs all that much and the one we are closest to is rural and does not update their toys all that much.
SO - SHOUT OUT TO the DRAGONSLAYERS
If you end up with some doubles, or have extra happy meal dragons lying around, please send me a pm. I'd love to buy them or perhaps trade out for some Marvel mini buildables.

thanks, and have a GOOD time

Keep my eyes peeled for them.

Do you have the action figure line in the States? They are from Canadian toymaker SpinMaster and are exclusive to Toys R Us up here.

Yes, there are a buch of WM exclusive toys for this line. The little figures are modestly priced at five bucks. The bigger dragons are at 13. I think the McDonald happy toys are just as cool and they are a hekova lot cheaper than dropping a hundred bucks on all the little buggers at WM. I will have to see how well the dragon craze holds out before I put too much cash in it for him.

we are still hoping for a Gronkle.
Haven't found one yet. But like I said, we don't eat at McD's very much and our little podunk Ronnie doesn't change his toys out very often.

if you go to ebay, you could usually find full set there, and if you look around you can get around the price hikers. good luck and it was a cool movie

                -long story post warning-

Here is a fun story about our local McDonald's and us chasing dragons.

Brief backstory - we live in a rural area outside of Austin, TX and go into town once a week for music lessons and etc.

Last week, I figured I would leave a little early for lessons and let the kiddos gnosh on McDs on the way into town and hopefully find the elusive Gronkle. So we take off about 20 minutes earlier than usual.

Get to the Macs and it is swamped. Drive in has about 8 cars in it, and there is a sizeable line inside. But, we haven't had lunch and these guys gotta have something before we do the town trip or the blood sugar drop will pretty much waste the whole day.

So, OK; we decide to dive in and go inside hoping that the line is smaller than it looks and will be a little bit faster.

It is a little shorter than it looks, but it is LOUD as all get out in this store and I am a little off kilter anyway due to seasonal allergies and the massive amounts of tree pollen that have been floating around. I try to order, but the girl running the register can't seem to hear me. I assume this is because it is pretty loud in the store.

We want the apples and milk in the happy meals 'cos we're funny about trying to minimize the amount of sugar we get - and I try to order a bottled water and one of the dollar burgers for my lunch.

I hear the total, but don't really click on it and push the OK button on the charge pad thingy and start off towards the soda fountain to put some water in the cup I am handed (rather than the bottled water). The cup kind of throws me off as I was expecting a bottle, but I figure it is an easy mistake and I don't really need to pay for the throwaway bottle anyway. The I take a look at my receipt and realize it is more than twice what I was expecting to pay for this little jaunt.

Examining the purchase, I see that the clerk itemized the request for apples and milk and added them as extras to the order. She also has me down for a Big Mac at $3.xx vs. the dollar burger I was expecting.

So I go back to the line and get back to the teller to explain my order a little better. She sort of disappears when I ask to fix the order and I wait for 3-4 minutes before the manager shows up to help me with this. We are now running about 5 minutes late for the lessons we are going to.

When the manager shows up, she spends an additional 5+ minutes showing the teller how to run the options for the Happy Meals and then another couple of minutes getting my refund for me, but not my burger. There is a sizable line building up behind me during all of this.

They never did get me my burger and we ended up being about 30 minutes late for our lessons. No Gronkle either, which was what we were hoping for.

so - that's why I had a request for any extra dragons if'n you all come across any.
I don't think I can do another shot at our local store. They Are Nuts.

Yeah, I know I could get a set on ebay, tho they are pretty much all price hikers when you add in shipping and whatnot. I always prefer trading here and was hoping to swap some marvel minis for them.
