Buck Rogers DST Deal, It's Official!!!

It seems like they were just interested in the Zica body and not really producing more from the license...I accepted this truth

So with this in mind, how would be the chances that a smaller company like BBP could buy the molds for the BR heads and accessories from DST, while DST just holds on to the ZICA body? I'm also wondering what they are planning to do with the remaining Buck & Tiger Man figure inventory they picked up from ZIC. Will they dump these altogether, stripping off outfits and heads from the figures just to retain the bodies? They also have the protos for the remaining 3 unproduced characters and the molds.

It doesn't matter what they say...the line is over! Zica was and has been the last hope of getting a bunch of these type of figures out on the market (which was just 2)

there just isn't enough audience or interest in Buck Rogers,which is why DST isn't going to persue..

Well that tells us a whole lot of nothing! Giving vague answers does not endear them to me at all.

"we have talked about it and I think its something we will address at some point
but nothing is carved into stone yet"

Did that answer come from DST or the Magic 8 Ball?

Good luck getting a response. I contacted them months ago, and got squat in the way of acknowledgement.

It really seems that DST just did the buyout to get their hands on the molds of a superior body. As they bought everything, making it pretty much "ready to go" for a bigger company to easily continue it, and delivered nothing, not even an announcement, it would seem Buck has come to another untimely end. :(

Sorry for my ignorance, but is there some kind of official business relationship between Diamond Select Toys and BBP? If Diamod isn't interested in carrying on the BR line, maybe BBP can take over. Since they already came up with classic BSG, BR would fit in very well.
I love the ZICA bobies, but wouldn't mind, if BBP would release the line with their standard EMCE bodies, just using the ZICA head sculpts, outfits and accessories, if that would be an requirement for taking over the protos from Diamond.
One could still swap over to a ZICA body later.
