RA coming to a store near you

My scoop/discovery was totally by accident.
I was in there for something totally unrelated, but I always end up in the action figure aisle. I was checking out the new wave of Green Lantern classics when I saw that huge empty space next to the two pegs of DCUC. I had to do a double take and then I just stood there for like 30 seconds trying to process the information. I took a pic and went on my way.
This is the route Mattel should have gone in the beginning. An exclusive deal with TRU was a risky move and very limiting. They've already proven their hestiation to order newer merchandise, especially unproven retro action. They've got enough Iron Man 2 and Star Trek figures to fill the Mariana Trench, but cannot pull the trigger on a few cases of RA. Can anyone spell mismanagement?Leave a comment:

This is fantastic! Not that I have ever even heard of a store called Meijer much less have one close by! What amazing detective work here RA!! Great eyes! I would imagine Walmarts would clearly get them if Mattel is looking to other popular retailers. Funny because the wife and I were at a couple different Walmarts last week and the toy departments at all three were pretty bare. I wasn't as wise as RA in thinking to read the peg labels though...I wonder now if I should've! How frickin' cool would THAT be???!!!
Having the Retros everywhere! Trouble is, I'd constantly be driving from store to store! Woe is me.Leave a comment:

Random, YOU are BRILLIANT! Great eyes! What a headline! I have one a half mile from me, PLUS my son works there too.
And everything you said I agree with spot on. They needed more distribution. This also completely debunks the reduced production theory. Quite the opposite now because Wave 3 is in TRU stores.

RA coming to a store near you
Somebody's been keeping secrets.
I found this in a local Meijer store. FOr those who don't have these it's similar to Biggs and Wal Mart. There were four pegs dedicated. For perspective, there were only two pegs for DCUC.
I guess this is either a HUGE mistake or the best news for the Retro Action line we could have hoped for. If Mattel has brokered new distro deals, then this line will continue and flourish. I still have yet to even see wave two here in CIncinnati TRU's, so this could potentially be a giant boost to the life support of this line of figures by not making them exclusive. RA has had it's fair share of problems, but I think most would like to see this continue for years. This may be the genesis of a long-term plan.
