How well will waves 3 & 4 do?

My guess is they will do well...I just hope Mattel adjusts quantity levels of each figure so they always need to be restocked and none hang around to warm pegs

^^^^^Thanks^^^^ rcbats1 and Meule for clearing that up. I missed that discussion! Anyway, I am thinking that 3 waves may be about right for this line. Of course I am impatient and want more quicker. Now I may be able to afford some of the other great Re-Mego's that are coming out.
As for how I thing waves 3 & 4 will do, I think wave 3 looks like a big winner. You get Flash and Wonder Woman. Cheetah and Cpt Cold are good villain choices. It sounds like Mattel has already switched the case packs so there will be less villains to warm the pegs. My TRU still has about a dozen each of Sinestro and Luthor. Wave 4 has great collector appeal. I am not sure how well known they are to the general public. Hopefully by wave 4 TRU will have figured out a good quantity to order, not too many so they warm the pegs for years, but not so few that you have to camp out to get them!Leave a comment:

That quote came from Toy Guru from Mattel at toy Fair 2010. He clearly stated that we get 3 waves of 4 figures per year and that wave 3 is scheduled for winter of 2010. You can go to youtube and see the video of him saying the same thing. I would imagine somewhere in all this madness Paul has re-affirmed that as well.

Ok, I was going by the pics I saw from the Mattel slideshow at SDCC; it just said 2011. I figured wave 3 would make sense in time for Christmas. I hope it does well, the figures in wave 3 & 4 (again besides Flash and WW) are just not to my liking. Perhaps when I see them that will change my mind. Also I'm out of work and the last thing I need is to buy more figs right now. So then I guess wave 5 will be around Christmas 2011.Leave a comment:

I really like the character selection for waves three and four on a personal level. How well they do commercially depends solely on how well wave 2 does next. If we start seeing this product warm pegboards then many local TRU stores will not be ordering them (or their participation in this exclusive line will be spotty at best). Of course this won't keep them from being available online so the access will be there for fans who want them. But if the stores start cutting too far back, that will surely lower production volume for future lines. This will impact the bottom line and could endanger future waves if other vendors don't hop on board to distribute the product. I'm a big believer that the original intent was to make a big splash out of the gate with wave one (and possibly wave two) to get the interest of other stores like Walmart and Target. I think that is truly needed to sustain this line. I don't think TRU can do it by themselves.Leave a comment:

Thanks, may I ask where that quote came from? So that would mean we get wave three in time for Christmas, and wave four in the spring of '11? It does seem like it would be normal for Mattel to have something new right around Christmas time.Leave a comment:

I think they nailed it on wave 3, really nice job. As far as wave 4, not so thrilled, bring on robin, joker and batgirl.Leave a comment:

I think these will do very well. Keep in mind that the Johnny DC "Shazam" book is great (I read it myself
), and a lot of these characters turned up in the popular Justice League cartoon.
