I think that the removable cowl is what Retro-Action figure should be! like batman.! The females with the rooted hair and and removable cowl is more in with the mego style, I think that would appeal more to kids if that's what Mattel is trying for, but then again at $20.00 who knows what there demographics are, really, Barbie's are not even price to this level.Leave a comment:

Batgirl
I would love a removable cowl or a head scupt which reguires no hair like Cheetah. A full head of hair or none at all.Leave a comment:

all very useful tips and great reference, thanx guys...even a recommendation on an approach i hadn't considered (but paul may have...subject just never came up). should one of these ladies be in the works, will definitely take into consideration.Leave a comment:

and here's the Batgirl from Paul Evans' site...
I think if you can evoke Yvonne Craig (like your Wonder Woman kind of evokes Carter without actually being a likeness), you've got a win!Leave a comment:

May I ask, just for my own personal edification, of course and not having anything at all do to with future plans, why not? Is it because it's more in line with how we made Cheetah's hood part of the head sculpt or an aversion to how heavy the material needs to be (and potentially how much smaller the head needs to be for a feasible cowl?
The Mego version cowl could come off but not the mask? so much for little girls wanting to play with Barbara Gordon.Last edited by kingdom warrior; Jul 24, '10, 4:07 PM.Leave a comment:

In light of retro-Batman's general reception, are more removeable cowls really being considered?!Leave a comment:

Here's an example of Barbie in the packaging with the "Batmite" tilted, floppy eared cowl.
Even Hot Toys at the high end price point can't seem to make the cowl not-bulky. Looks more like a helmet than a cowl once again.
Takara Cool Girls
I think the DCD looks great with a molded cowl, but I would have liked rooted hair coming out the back rather than molded hair.

Here-here to Classic Gals, and adding Mera & Black Canary would be awesome!
I think Catwoman def. requires the purple dress & green cape--the purple leotard is no better than the pirate version imo.Leave a comment:

I think a molded cowl (like the Cheetah) would make the head look sleeker like a feminine head should compared to a male that can get away with the bulk of a removable cowl.
Even the Tonner couldn't quite pull it off IMHO (especially with that lovely flow of red hair underneath).
The two Barbie Batgirls got the feminine silhouette, but the soft material of the cowl just looks too "floppy", particularly the ears.
Plus this one never quite sat right on the head with the bulk of the hair underneath either, again clunky from the not-head on angles.
I've been working on Catwoman customs using Brian Leitner's Catwoman head that has a molded cowl, but rooted hair in the back, and to me this is the most ideal solution. Brian's stuff (below) for some reason has always felt the most "Mego-ey" to me.
Even when he does a contemporary version of Catwoman

After seeing Wonder Woman, I can only imagine how sweet Bat girl will be!Leave a comment:

I'd prefer to see the remakes sprinkled in among NEW characters:
Mera
Black Canary
Hawkgirl
Huntress (Helena Wayne)
Power Girl
For the remakes:
Catwoman (Purple dress/green cape or don't bother)
Supergirl (Silver Age blue skirt)
Batgirl (sculpted non-removable cowl)Last edited by Krypt0nite; Jul 24, '10, 2:13 PM.Leave a comment:
