I prefer long ears and dark colors with a huge cape. The whole outfit was to frighten or dismay crooks so it should look the part.

All the talk of "several different Batman" figures is starting to scare me. If one sells well, they will make more. After they flood the market with six waves of different Batman figures they stop selling and the line dies off. Toybiz did it with the Famous Covers line. It turned into almost strictly X-Men figures, and then faded away... If we get more than one Batman figure, it should be a Mattycollector.com exclusive. Not a mass market item. Which I have no problem with...

how about this style belt with tubes and pouches? With mid sized ears. Blue and gray. And no Adam West in my head when I "hear" him talk.

Long ears, but not ridiculously long. Neal Adams long, not Berni Wrightson long (but I do dig Berni's version). We've got a short-eared Batman in Mego scale, and if they are going with accuracy to the comics of the time (and Super Friends too), then long ears it is.

I would imagine there is a great deal of precedence for this to be true!

I'd even want the ridiculous looking fur hat Soviet Batman if they made it into a Mego! What? It doesn't get cold swinging around Siberia fighting Russian Superman?

Why have they never made a Cowboy Batman?
    (other than Tex Willer )

    Nitpicky!

He wasnt modern after you take him out of the package! Other than Nicolson and Ledger the Joker has pretty much kept the same look through the years.

( I heard originally they were going to make Nicolsons costume more traditional with stripes but Jack requested checkered pants.)

Come on, lets be realistic. It's BATMAN. You KNOW they'll make several variations . When has anyone in the last 20 years NOT?

Personally I can never have enough Lava Planet Batmans .

It seems so far (re: Green Arrow & Superman) that Mattel is tweaking existing Mego sculpts.

So maybe a MegoBats with longer ears & less of a smile, more defined chin? I'm thinking it could work...

    Of course, I love Aparo...

Longer ears than the orginal Mego Batman would be great. I love that image of the bat-belt, awesome! I think the orginal ( the one without removable cowl) Batman Mego was one of the weakest rendering of the DC lines. A solid update is in order, one with a removable cowl.
