Would EMCE ever consider a Dick Tracy line?

I like the idea of a Tracy line but would probably only pick up a few of them ...not all. as for the movie.. i liked madonna it was a mistake to make her the villian and it's biggest problem ... was killing off all the notable DT villians in the first 2 minutes to set up madonna and Big Boy as the big Villians in the story. I was so ticked off after that!

The statue of Tracy looks great and if a Mego style figure looked like that I would definitely support it. The Dick Tracy by Shocker Toys looked horrible... like anything they do really. I saw a review online. Just a lump of plastic without any sculpting grace or passion... much like the recent Star Trek line by Playmates.

I'm buying those Dick Tracy archive books put out by IDW and they are awesome. Not sure about the audience size but the treatment is nice insofar as the publishing world goes.

Odd too cause Beatty's Dick Tracy is straight from the pages of the comics. One of the best comic-to-movie adaptations in that respect.

That movie got lost in the Madonna nonsense of the 1980's.

I can't imagine a Tracy license is that expensive... SHOCKER TOYS has the freaking license.

Plus they're making new Tonner dolls I think.

Not sure how much of a market there is for it though.

LOL! I didn't even GO to that movie.

Not that I dislike Warren Beatty, I just can't stand Madonna.

Not to sound like a wet blanket, and usually I support many of these ideas, but there are too many other figures I would want first, but then I never was a big DT fan. Before my time I guess. That movie with Warren Beatty, was one of the only movies I ever walked out of, I hated it.

Love to see a Dick Tracy line, but Doc is probably right on the sell thru on them.

Okay, before you all start bombarding me with tomatoes, let me explain.

I remember watching on Chiller Theatre all the really GREAT monster movies like Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, the Mummy. They were CLASSIC in a way that none of the movies made today can match.

Bela Lugosi; Lon Chaney Jr.; Boris Karloff; Oliver Reed; Christopher Lee; Peter Cushing; they were all giants in the field of horror.

How many of us watched the movie from behind the sofa when it was on? How many of us wished that we could BE one of them, if only to scare the poop out of the bullies at school.

I would love to see different versions of Drac, Wolfie, Mummy and Frankie done by EMCE or Castaway or even ZICA.

    Let's hear it for MONSTERS!
I second this , as much as I love the Mego Mad Monsters I would certainly enjoy a 8" format that rivals the Remco Monsters line. At Least Monsters that look more closely to their well known and Iconic looks. Would Universal be willing to do these with a low up front ???

I would love Tracy figures, but you're probably right about the market.

Heck, we couldn't even get another wave of cool EMCE apes.

Trek begs expansion, esp. considering the cool Brady sculpts that remain.
But what else might sell well? Monsters?

Show me the audience - where can I find the Dick Tracy fans?

I know where to find Trek fans, superhero fans, even Night
of the Living Dead fans - but the days of "build it and they will come"
    are over.

If Electric Tiki's license covers 8 inch action figures, and they are
looking to explore making megos, then I would glad to talk to them
    about it.

Darn!! Shame, Tracy would be one hell of a toy line with the Villains, cars and play sets.
