This is my first time delving into the world of fabric glue. I just got another Kirk from FAO and the (thin) collar is flipped up. Can anyone please recommend a glue and where it can be found? Thanks!

Fortunately, in the world of Star Trek, a lot of the anomalies found in the EMCEs can be explained ... Khan did have a reddish face; so did Scotty, I presume, after a wee too much scotch. By the end of the first season, after many trips to the dry cleaners, Kirk's shirt did resemble a belly shirt. And, the spacing between the sleeve rank stripes did vary from season to season. Also, the collars varied widely in thickness, particularly during the first season (in some of those early episodes, it almost looks like Spock is wearing a turtleneck).

The silver rank stripes and the upturned collars? Beats me. Maybe they were in the animated series.

    I didn't watch that.

    I DID IT!!! Ok...it bothered Me that I failed...and that I might've made Doc hate Me(whom I admire & respect)...so I came up with another idea!

I realized that the Snaps were one reason I couldn't get the Collar to lay flat. So, I removed the Snaps...folded the Collar tighter, I sewed it up! Sure the Shirt isn't removable now...but it's a compromise I can live with. I'm HAPPY now!!

I understand, and totally agree. When it happened to Scotty...In wrote it off as a one time deal. But when it happened again to Checkov...it really bummed Me out. Because to Me it meant, that the People in China weren't fixing the problem. That combined with My utter EXCITEMENT & Joy...at finally owning the two missing crew Members after 30 years! So...having it happen to Checkov...really popped My Balloon.
Sorry if this tread turned out wrong...but I really thought I'd figured out a way to fix them. I wish it had worked.

When I started this thread, it was my intent to provide a solution, or "fix" to the Collar problem...NOT to down you Paul, or belittle your efforts(I support EMCE by buying them by the Case). Unfortunately...I failed...and My fix didn't work.

But I guess it's a win, win Scenario for you...you get to sell us the Figure, then the replacement Shirt from your Site to fix it.

Im with you guys,..Mego also made their mistakes too,,..and were accepted by all of us no matter if Supergirls trunks were sewn to high, or Speedy's pants not red, or Capt. America had no white sleeves or gloves, nor Kirks emblem was glued to low ,.then and now, we enjoyed them,..and EMCE ROCKS!!! Thanks Paul for bringing back these Mego/Like figures for us, our kids and beyond!!!!

That makes sense to me Paul. I am not really concerned about the collars myself . It is what it is like I said before it does not bother me in the least.

I was wondering when you'd put in your two cent's worth Paul.

To me, the stitching is not that big of a deal.

I bought my figures because I never received them as a kid, in spite of asking for them at Christmas AND my birthday.

I don't care if they are reissues; to me, they are just as good as the vintage ones, if not better.

And who's to say that the vintage ones didn't have imperfections in the stitching detail of the outfits?
