I had thought about using a black rider horse for a conan war horse, but I think it is a little to small....War horses are big brutes, but I aways loved that black rider horse.

Am I the only one who sees the title of this topic, and thinks 'Horse Sized Megos' every time?

That auction is for BOTH Gandalf and Aragorn released by ToyBiz, along with their respective horses (Brego and Shadowfax). Photos to be edited into this space below --- as soon as I can download/upload them all.

^ Those photos include Legolas and a Nazgul (with their mounts) from the same series.

To the best of my knowledge, these figures are scaled at either the 6" or 7" scale. Consequently, those horses are probably too small to effectively work with standard-sized (8") Megos. I believe (but am not certain) those horses are the same scale as the mounted General Thade action figure from Tim Burton's "Planet of the Apes", released several years ago. This only underscores my caution regarding online purchases -- those horses look FANTASTIC, but without seeing them in person, it is difficult to gauge the size/scale, as it is not clearly marked on the packages (at least not in those online photos). If anyone has actually purchased those horses, PLEASE chime in to either confirm this or to or prove me wrong!

But, boy... those would probably compliment my Lion Rock figures! Now I need to go dig up General Thade's horse...

Which is an amazingly useful and well-organized primer on 1:9 horses for Mego figures! Thanks so much for taking the time to do this and to share your experiences with specific brands and lines. (Thanks also for the staged photos - looks like you had fun doing those!)

And the thing that prevented me from starting this Topic Thread was the concern that I could always improve upon it, so I would never completely be ready to post it with all the notes and photos.

So I simply posted everything I had. And then walked away from the computer to attend an all-night flea market.

And then kick myself in the rear, because last night I picked up another "Empire" (battery-operated sound FX) horse for only $3 --

I think it would be safe to say that you can all expect more updates as I continue to investigate this aspect of the hobby...
