One-color Matching Collar TOS Uniform Shirts

Before I modify these shirts for other projects I was wondering about their origin.

They look like the uniforms from the pilot or the cage. I couldn’t find an exact match on the internets amongst new AI powered searches that virtually cancel out the keywords I entered. It just feeds me an endless amount of product currently available for sale.

I thought these two might be borrowing from the 9” Playmates line but the materials and sizing is different.

Please let me know what I’ve got Trek experts.

These are really charming. They look similar to The Cage uniform in the Spock Gift Set, but they are clearly different. I'm inclined to think these are customs... but really high quality ones. I wouldn't modify them.

Thank you, yes I just found that Spock set but you are correct, it is not a match. On these shirts the metallic delta has an outline. The metallic accents are typical of the heat pressed applications on modern mego offerings and the stitching is what you would expect from a factory.

I thought they might have had something like this when Diamond Select was doing reissues but I could find no exact match.

Only Diamond's Capt. Pike has a shirt somewhat similar to these, and it's not a match. Cricut makes heat-transferred appliques possible on modern customs.

I'm inclined to see these as customs from inactive members Theressa or Bleit. I'm curious--may I ask from where you got them?

Purchased from everyone’s favorite auction site, only about thirty shipped for the pair. My plan was to use the yellow one for my custom type 0 mego bodied AHI Frankenstein monster who is desperate for a turtleneck. And the blue one for my custom Mr. Rock since the sleeves attach to the shirt similarly. The figures are the more recent offerings circa 2016/18.

Thanks. They might be worth saving--perhaps you could use a CTVT or vintage Hutch shirt for the Monster?

I can’t alter them now, it’d be a shame to ruin these. Maybe I can modify some playmates shirts for my customs.

The Hutch shirt comes close but I might just ruin some Cornelius pants and fake the sleeves/neck. The old AHI suit jacket doesn’t leave a lot of extra material to hide any fasteners.

I appreciate the feedback. I had no idea I was getting anything special.

I like what you already have, I wouldn’t alter them. I thought about museum member Theressa and possibly Brian Leitner, but I don’t think so.

Maybe Dr. Mego Paul can help you out, might be worth asking, CTVT has many shirts you can check out, plus they periodically get new items on their website, just keep checking.

I wish I could get one more tan one for Spock then put the blue one on a Sulu. Then arm them all with cage phasers and communicators.
