How Do I Get A Disney Shopper for the Fantastic Four Set?

    Hi everyone.
My order for the Fantastic Four set was unfortunately canceled late last night by the Disney Store and now I'm looking for non eBay, non-scalper options to obtain a set.
It was suggested I enlist the services of a Disney Shopper. Can anyone please tell me how how I go about that, and to please recommend one that is reliable and reasonably priced? I'm in Toronto, Canada, and have no way to get to a Disney Park store, nor do I know anyone in the USA who can pick one up for me. Thank you very much.

When I missed out on the Spidey set, I used a Disney Shopper on Facebook called Lost Boys Treasures - Disney Personal Shopper. Someone on here mentioned they had used them in a post on the Spidey 4-pack thread.
They’re based in California (so Disney Land), and I paid $144.20 shipped, so probably a $30-35 markup. Not sure if they ship to Canada, though.
If you have Facebook (I don’t so that made it challenging), you could try contacting them.

Thanks very much for getting back to me, I really appreciate it. I'll look into it.

What gets me is that we shouldn't have to be resorting to something like this for a brand new release. It shouldn't be so difficult to get these. Who is making these decisions and making these miniscule production runs?

Millions of Mego figures were made available in the 1970s and early '80s. Logic should dictate that that a certain percentage of those who grew up with these figures back in the day would want to get their hands on reproductions now - not only for themselves, but maybe for children or grandchildren, as well. I'm sorry, but 4000 or so units isn't nearly enough to meet demand.

Does anyone know if the Mego figures that were advertised in the comic books back in the 70’s, the ones that were loose and put in the plastic baggie delivered in the rectangular 9-10 inch box were available to Canadian addresses?

I’m curious to know and if so, your telling me 50 years later they aren’t able to do it? Back in the 70’s we didn’t even have online shopping, it was just old school basic philosophy.

I’m pretty sure back in the day, magazine advertising items from the states were shipped to Canada, it was just a little more expensive and maybe taxed more.

I know Dr. Mego and classic tv toys ships to Canada, but Disney a billion dollar corporation won’t ship online items to Canada? does Disney have any stores in Canada? if so, can a Canadian resident order these figures thru the store, and pick the item up at the store?

Thanks for the response. I really appreciate it. I did contact a Disney Shopper yesterday, but today they sent out a message that they'll be going on vacation.

I'm unsure how widely the Fantastic Four was available in Canada back in the 1970s. I had never seen or had any of them back then. Mine were the more common ones: Batman, Robin, Spider-Man, Hulk, and Superman. I was only able to get my hands on a carded set of the Fantastic Four maybe around 1991 or so. Later, when I was planning to college, I unfortunately had to sell a lot of my collectibles to raise tuition money, and my FF set was among the items I parted with. So, needless to say, I was really looking forward to getting these again.

We used to have a few Disney Stores (located in malls) here in Canada, though they all closed down a few years ago. But I don't think it would help as these are exclusives to the website and the parks. As for shipping to Canada, the Disney Store does ship to Canada, although it is not cheap to do so. It costs around $39.50 USD, which converts to nearly $55 for us to ship this set to Canada. Plus, there are additional customs fees for us to worry about upon delivery.

Again, thank you for the reply, it is appreciated.
