As a lifelong DC fan and collector, I have to say that IMO, FTC is doing a great job with this line so far. I go all the way back to original Megos, and I can't recall another company that has been so forthcoming with new reveals as FTC. If what we know so far is any indication, they are in this for the long haul, and look poised to offer a very expansive range of our favorite heroes.
As for the sellouts, this can only be a good thing. A) it means folks who have been sitting on the fence will be more inclined to buy, B) they won't be cannibalizing their sales too much by having more than one version of any character available at the same time, and C) smaller runs should equal quicker production turnarounds meaning more new figures per year!
My first post!Leave a comment:

The FOLLOWING THOUGHT is what I would have thought would've worked better for the line (and I'm directly quoting from my above post----which, at this point---I'm thinking won't help you understand my point, as this is the billionth time you have shown me you don't get what I'm saying). I thought FTC would've been more clever overall to: I don't think you get that.
I don't. Because again, 8 of the 12 figures you said you wanted in the first 3 waves, you got. 3 of the 4 you didn't get in the first 3 waves, are coming in the 4th wave. The 12th figure has already been announced for the Batman 66 series and you'll probably get it eventually as a 'regular' Mego as well. Future waves haven't been announced, but we do know that FTC will likely move to Superman characters next, which....ironically, still follows your preferred figure assortment.
Personally if that was my desired figure assortment, I'd be pretty pleased with what FTC has done. I definitely wouldn't be on this forum saying that FTC needs to 'up their game'.
I guess I'm saying I don't think FTC missed what you claimed you wanted by enough to justify the quibbling. Unless, you just want to quibble. If so, I'll let you get to it as I've wasted enough board space on it.Leave a comment:

We are finally in complete agreement.
You're still missing that 8 of the 12 figures in your proposed first 3 waves were actually in the first 3 waves.
And 3 of the 4 that weren't, are in the 4th wave.
Again, this is the part you were complaining about.....for some reason.
Again, 11 of the 12 figures you wanted in the first three waves, are coming in the first 16 figures.
All 12 will likely either be released by the end of the year, or on schedule to be released.
Enjoy.
The FOLLOWING THOUGHT is what I would have thought would've worked better for the line (and I'm directly quoting from my above post----which, at this point---I'm thinking won't help you understand my point, as this is the billionth time you have shown me you don't get what I'm saying). I thought FTC would've been more clever overall to:"...pick similar characters, just sticking with the idea of 'more evenly distributed new Megos' and 'more evenly distributed non-civilian/non-man-in-dress suit characters' is the only changes I made..."
And, fellow Mego-lover, it's not really a big deal. It ain't.
But because you seem to not understand what I'm saying, it (to both our chagrin) compels me to repetitively try to explain myself. I mean, it's obvious you're not getting it. It's one thing to "disagree". It's another to totally miss my point.
According to your critiques of my posts, one second I'm wanting "D-Listers" to be released right off, and the next second I'm "missing that 8 of 12 figure were actually in first three waves.... etc etc" So, I keep repeating myself ad nauseum. And I repeat myself not to be "a pest", but because you seem to be looking to nail me on being unreasonable by accusing me of a spectrum of illogical things... all of which are incorrect or that are inappropriately addressing my points.
This has never been about "product that I want"---it's always been about me "hypothesizing what subtle differences in line release decisions might make for a stronger foundation for the line""...pick similar characters, just sticking with the idea of 'more evenly distributed new Megos' and 'more evenly distributed non-civilian/non-man-in-dress suit characters' is the only changes I made..."Leave a comment:

I snagged a Riddler a while back, which is the one I wanted most since I don't own a Mego carded version to the cost/scarcity. I have enough of the originals in some form or fashion of Batman, Robin & Joker in my collection already I passe don those. It's cool they are selling through this stuff since it makes the future look bright for WGH.Leave a comment:

Honestly surprised that the 2-packs haven't started selling out by now. Riddler is the only figure from Wave 1 not in a 2-pack. Could be a bit more expensive in a few years.Leave a comment:

All four figures from Series 1 and now listed as "Sold Out, Product Retired" on FTC's website. However, the two packs are still available, but probably not for long.Leave a comment:

I think this is like the fifth time you've ignored that my first few wave suggestions are jam packed with A/B listers. Unless I'm missing something.
And 3 of the 4 that weren't, are in the 4th wave.
Again, this is the part you were complaining about.....for some reason.
"Tiresome" is having to type out the same thing over and over because some posters have a hard time handling that I may think FTC could have upped their game a bit
All 12 will likely either be released by the end of the year, or on schedule to be released.
Enjoy.Last edited by ThePlayerOnTheOtherSide; May 6, '14, 6:43 PM.Leave a comment:

I think this is like the fifth time you've ignored that my first few wave suggestions are jam packed with A/B listers. Unless I'm missing something.
WAVE 01: Batman, Robin, Joker, Penguin
WAVE 02: Riddler, "Pirate" Catwoman, Commissioner James Gordon, Scarecrow
WAVE 03: RC Batman, RM Robin, Mr. Freeze, Ra's Al Ghul
WAVE 04: Superman, Bizarro, Batgirl, Two Face
WAVE 05: Supergirl, Jimmy Olsen, Lex Luthor, Brainiac,
This was always my suggested release waves--- or pick similar characters, just sticking with the idea of "more evenly distributed new Megos" and "more evenly distributed non-civilian/non-man-in-dress suit characters" is the only changes I made.
D-Listers? Where?
"Tiresome" is having to type out the same thing over and over because some posters have a hard time handling that I may think FTC could have upped their game a bit, and they appear to think everything I post is based on crazy talk like I want all D-listers released early on in a fantasy world I'm living in.Leave a comment:

Batman and Riddler now showing as sold out and retired as well on FTC's site.
If you are still on the fence about any of the 2-packs, I'd get them now.Last edited by ThePlayerOnTheOtherSide; May 6, '14, 6:32 PM.Leave a comment:

Actually, that was just a playful closure to cut the tension, I get teased about Cobblepot all the time & it wasn't you. You can't care about the characters I like & not get ribbed.Leave a comment:

Just a guess based on your thoughts/rants on this topic. It appears that you are seeing these figures through a very critical eye because they didn't release the exact assortment that you wanted at launch.
They didn't because doing so would have been a bad business decision, for the most part.
You saying flat-out that if they would've mimicked my ideas "would have been a bad decision for the most part" isn't batting around a scenario to see what people think, it's about saying my idea wouldn't work. With all my broo-ha-ha about what I thought was poor judgment on FTC's part, I never said their ideas wouldn't work. I was just guessing they wouldn't work, and was actually informed by others disagreeing with me on the whole. No sweat there. Ya know?
Hmmm... I can only assume you're working off a comment I made a long tie ago in a certain context. It obviously got under your skin, and I regret that it did bother you, if only because now it becomes a wedge in our current conversations. I can't even imagine Penguin NOT being important to the Batman mythos except in unique contexts, like, for example (to use a current topic context), "compared to Alfred". But, anywho, I mean what I say, but I'm not always articulate enough to "say what I mean" (that's on me), so what SEEMS to be contradictory, in my twisted mind, really isn't... and furthermore, I'm always willing to change my stance... which you could look at as bring "hypocritical" or "contradicting". Sorry, I'm only human. And, although I'm not always "contrary"--a lot of the time I "am"---can't help it. It is indeed a primary reason why I post on pop culture/nostalgia oriented boards. I like debating with people. However, I don't do it arbitrarily. I discuss things I'm passionate about. And I try to talk to people how I'd like to be talked to. For better or for worse.Last edited by huedell; May 6, '14, 6:18 PM.Leave a comment:

Yes, different sculpts/versions of the same character I'm interested in, but I feel that right now if someone wants a mego style Robin or Joker they haven't missed the chance even though they sold out, at least not yet. No need to panic for now.Leave a comment:
