I hear ya... I just thought you saying "I can't see the point" as far as what a company releases, and saying it to a bunch of Mego fans was a bit too ironic not to comment

Oh, but they DID add a new figure: Alfred... beautiful, exciting ALFRED!

Does it make sense to have the first three lines of a toy company's retro figures come out with NOT ONE new figure??!!?? This will die a quick death. It's sad because I want to see the Egghead and Romero Joker figures...but it will never happen. It might happen in 12 inch form, but not 8 inch form.
Firstly... "line dying a quick death" stuff is hard to swallow for me these days being that, I too, wanted new characters (more than just one plain ol' civilian)... I made my point known on these boards and essentially everybody made me out to be a complaining guy who didn't appreciate a new well-known Batman character and was silly for saying the line would be hurt because of what I saw as a stupid choice by Figures Inc. So, if you can't see, Meanie... you're preaching to the WAY converted.

As far as you and your wishes for Batman '66 stuff from Figures Inc... in theory, that's not even the same line as this one, so I don't see where you're linking them together is logical other than that they are both DC licensed and contain Batman characters.

As far as you saying this is "not about being a purist", if you'd simply look at this thread, the collectors who are trying to avoid running into repros were already brought up, so getting huffy at me for referring to that isn't needed. Also, if what you're saying about these new figures not being a bargain or at least "comparable" pricewise compared to hunting vintage figures of similar mint condition on Ebay, well, I'd just love it if you were right. Show me where I can get loose, mint examples of all these WGSH characters for 30 bucks on Ebay and I'll be a happy toy collector.

I didn't buy the reissue of Superman #1. Just read it for free online!

Instead of buying CTVTEMCEDMMATTEL, I can upgrade my outdoor barbecue patio living situation!

The irony of not wanting the old line resurrected lessens when considering the purists, admittedly.

I pre-ordered the first two sets but havent decided on the third. Im starting to kind of feel the sam eway, nostalgia led me to buy the first two sets but now reality sets in. Why do I need exact reproductions? At the very least, each wave should have included a brand new-to-mego character. Alfred was kind of a let down. I would have preferred if they released the alter egos as heads and costumes in a cool package as opposed to ending up with three pairs of essentially the same character.

I really want to see what Alfred looks like. I'm not much on removable mask figures, though. Would like to see a new Batgirl head sculpt.

The head on Robin looks weird. Yet,it looks fine on the Dick Grayson figure. Maybe it's the collar on the Grayson figure that does that?

Because somebody copy and pasted from the last ad and then forgot to proof it. ;-)

According to Amazon, Series 1 is in stock September 1, Series 2 is November 1 and Series 3 is February 28.

I ordered series 1 direct from Figures, I feel like its been forever!!

This is the only slightly more appealing than wave 2. Complete Batgirls can be tough so I can see that. However loose RM Batman is pretty affordable, I don;t see that RM Robin satisfying anyone for numerous reasons. Don't get my wrong I hope people buy it, but it's going to be tough going.
