There's nothing not manly about boys liking dolls. And if a female like me can like action figures, a boy can play w/ dolls. And in case you weren't paying attention, these action dolls are the best of BOTH worlds!
There are different rules for males and females. Straight males are not going to dance with each other at a party or night club or hold Hands .And most straight men who collect mego, gijoe or Hot Toys are not going to use "I collect dolls"

"Action figure" is a marketing term coined by Hasbro in 1964 to sell their GI JOE dolls to boys. Captain Action, 12 inch GI JOE, Mego 8 and 12 inch, etc. are all dolls. GI JOE was directly inspired by Barbie's business model of selling a basic doll with additional outfits to purchase to dress the doll in.

I collect large GI Joes and many other action figures, and I'm gay. So much for your outdated cultural stereotypes.

Action Figure was a buzzword created to remove the stigma from doll. Semantics...

Do the American Girls have soft bodies and vinyl limbs, too?

My daughter customized one of those generic My Twinn dolls into a boy, because she couldn't find any boy dolls to go along with her American Girl and similar females.

Yeah, I have a feeling girls would want these too.

My own daughter asked for Superman and Batman Barbie dolls this year for her birthday, when i asked about Wonder Woman she said "I have enough girls".

Way up in the trees live the Monchhichis. Monchhichi! Monchhichi!

Lol, anyhoo, I do think the dolls are a cool idea. It's probably just the molded hair and the kinda starey eyes giving me the ventriloquist vibe.

My daughter - college now - had American Girl dolls. I think they'll be great for a boy who is looking for a male doll in this size, or for a girl who's looking for a pal for her American Girl doll. I don't get a creepy vibe. I was expecting Sunshine Family or Hugo, these don't really bother me.

And thanks Scott for putting the My Buddy jingle in my head. It's almost as bad as Monchhichi.
