Playing Mantis C/A figure has a little longer arms so that's probably a result of that.

I was able to finally get one at a decent price and scored a Playing Mantis CA, in the first retro box still sealed, on eBay. The Ultraman is such a beautiful piece that I don't want to.open it and getting a second is out. For now I'll just display the sealed costume and CA.
Good call. From what I've seen, as I never did pick one up, is that it looks better in the box than on a figure.

This elusive toy had been one of my must-see items, along with the 70's GI Joe/Henshin Cyborg-style Inframan doll.
While the Inframan doll did exist, I saw it with my own eyes, it was determined by serious Japanese toy collectors that the Captain Action Ultraman outfit was probably never mass-produced as none has been found.

I decided the mock-up for the old ads must've been made using off-the-shelf toys/products and set about googling and found this item to be the closest match.

I'm sure Medicom and other Japanese toy collectors have done their own similar investigation. I hope Medicom does more for their head sculpt as it is seriously lacking!

someone will sell it internationally, the only question is the markup.
great costume. I have a 'Man of Asia' from the Joe club I deflocked that I'd love to put that on. Give it sort of an old Combat Joe vibe.

The pics on the Medicom site look like it is on an old style CA body with those long arms.

Whoa, that's cool. Medicom's website itself never sells and ships to anyone outside of Japan, but I'm sure it will eventually be available from other sources not long after it's Japan release.

I've got to believe that will get fine tuned at some point as the year progresses. I'm a big Ultraman fan so I will cross my fingers and zip my tongue on the recent failings of this company and hope they can actually see this to daylight.
