How patients are you when buying new toys?

Do you have to buy them right when they come out or do you wait till they become more affordable (or less in some cases)

I plan on getting the diamond Wolverine and of course the FTC Shark playset but I can wait till I see the right deal for me mainly cause I'm going to open them anyway.

    Your thoughts?

I tend to buy things right away. It worked out well for me on the NECA Django figures, but when I see other things on clearance that I spent full price on I sometime question my buying habits.

I pre-order what I like right away, which isn't very much. Pick and choose the odd thing after the fact.

My buying tendencies vary greatly according to license and what I like. If it's a truly limited release of a license I love (like the variant Riddler) then I go ahead and pre-order. If it's a more common release (3,000 units), I'll shop it for deals if I believe it will hang around. I tend not to get burned on that philosophy. The only time I recently ate crow on that was the Barnabas 8 inch figure. Of course I was working from the premise a second production was coming, but support for it dried up and that second order was cancelled. So it's usually odd circumstances that get me. I also don't buy entire lines unless they are extremely unique to my tastes. The Batman '66 line counts, as will the Superfriends. But for most lines, I pick and choose.

I grew up and became a collector before the internet. I remember scrounging through flea markets and comic shops for figures. I imagine I am more patient (singular) than most, but I don't always feel like I am.

With me, I think more about the shipping, if I can get it on the cheap plus the postage, Ill probably end up paying what U Guys paid originally. With the whole limited edition thing, Ive seriously taught myself to be cool, and learnt my lesson. 9 out of 10 times these things wont go through the roof, and U will end up finding a bargain, somewhere down the road. Isnt the hunt the most enjoyable part

I'm done with pre-orders, because of "hey, this isn't what the prototype looked like".
For the rest, I just wait until the right one comes along. There's nothing I can't live without.

my advice is when you are stateside look for local shows and go on buying spree. I remember Kane county, ILL was the biggest Midwestern toy show.

Pretty patient with most things. Rare I pre-order stuff, but do every once in a great while. I don't currently have anything on pre-order, but do have a few things I want to pick up, and eventually will.

I'm in the States next year. I might just do all of my shopping then, and enjoy cheap shipping. Which means I will have to drag all that home...
