    Mattel buys Megabloks

Mattel moving into the Lego isle. I'd love some MOTU and She-Ra sets.

Seems like Mattel is looking to compete with LEGO and even Hasbro's new KRE-O line by jumping into the construction toy business with the news that they have

Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. I only have the Call of Duty Zombies Horde Building Set, but I think it's pretty cool.

Mattels biggest buildable property would probably be DC heroes, and Lego has that one in that scale.
I could maybe see Motu from Matty, but what else could Mattel use? I think they already teamed up with Lego for Barbie. Perhaps they would take that license back home?

Megabloks already had the license for Hotwheels and Barbie. So that kinda leaves MOTU and Monster High as big name in house brands. Major Matt Mason, would be super cool, but probably a long shot.

I don't see any negatives here. Lego is pretty careful about their licenses; Mattel being in the game might get some more obscure stuff to market.

I think Mega Blocks already had a Barbie license, so it was a natural purchase.

And in other news...Mega Bloks will now only be sold on Mattycollector.com via subscription, will cost twice as much, and will no longer work properly...
