It is interesting on how when you buy a McFarlane toy these days,.. How they all smell like Skunkor did.

As a 3 3/4 GI Joe loving kid, neither did I, unless you count swivel arm, which I don't. I thought they were gimmicky. It's only now in my old age that I can appreciate the ideas and innovation. The fact that it's adults sitting around coming up with ideas of what they think would be cool toys for kids really appeals to me. There's a Max Steele villian that has an exploding head, revealing a little mechanical robot brain, maye a kid could think that up, but it takes an adult to engineer it. I'd love to read a interview with the creators of these toys.

I never regarded the Kung-Fu grip as an action feature like I would a karate chop or spinning legs but I did like the KFG because it help the Joes hold their weapons better.

Seriously,.. Any Action figure that has snap on Armor is pretty dang cool. The New IronMan/Tony Stark has this,.. it's Fantastic.

Here's another one. What about the COPS line? Buttons McBoomBoom( I love that name) had the guns flip out when he opened his coat. And another bad guy just exploded. (man you can almost smell the gun powder from the caps)

    Visionaries had those holograms.

Pretty much every thing was geared around that feature, so it made for an interesting dynamic, especially when it came to recreating moments from the TV show. Some great memories in there!
i totally agree with you! the bionic eye, bionic module implanted in the arm, the fake skin, and even the clicking noise as the right arm moves...

^^^ The Red Torando IS Fantastic ! His Legs spin around for the "Tornado" effect.
It was My Favorite. I think it still holds up well today.

I think it's Big Jim. The karate chop action, and actually being able to form a muscle! Wow! Second choice I think would be Pulsar and his innards. I actually had a student who wanted to borrow him for a science project!

Just wanted to mention that (imho) the He-man line was perhaps the single greatest action feature line ever. tons of action features spread out across dozens of figures. I don't think any single one is greater than the pulsar, hypnos, smdm, maskatron toys of the 70's that they often aped, but for sheer volume of toys they are definitely worth a mention.
