My Mom was a hardcore Barbie collector. When she died in 2000 I promised I would buy one every year in memory of her and until my daughter was born. My daughter was born in 2006 and now Loves plays and watches Barbie. I myself can't pass up the Superhero Barbies. I'm also trying to get the Elvis Aloha from hawaii doll that mattel made awhile back..........

I started getting them for my daughter when she was young - Holiday Barbie, NASCAR, Star Trek, Wonder Woman ... Then one day she just grew out fo them and I haven't bought one since (she's 15 now). Although the DC Heroes always catch my eye.

I have to confess last week I picked up a Spiderman 3 themed Bratz. She's not even dressed like a Superhero, she's just wearing a shirt and jeans with Spiderman on it. I had picked one up for my niece hoping that it was something she could relate to since she only wants to wear clothes with Superheroes on them. The Spiderman Head shaped clear plastic blister looked too cool, so I grabbed one for myself.

Somehow I feel like I've crossed a line.

My wife does. She has almost as many Barbies as I have super hero toys. It keeps me from having to live with the stigma when I want own the super hero Barbies.

Hey Werewolf, she specializes in the Halloween Barbies too. Cool subset to collect, but don't you wish they'd give the Witch theme a rest? How about a female vampire or something?

    Chris

Quite literally. LOL!! It does have it's benefits (plenty of ups and downs) though if you catch my drift.

Yeah, The prices use to be up pretty good on them. Some of them are still doing well price wise. It really depends on the doll and the collector's desire I suppose. I am glad to know that I am not the only one out there dropping a little change on Barbies.

Only the comic or "pop culture" ones.... I've got about 14

My daughters have 100s...just packed them away this year. They're officially "over it".
