The 9 Most Blatant Knock-Off Action Figures Ever Made
Mike Power is still one of my favs, even if he is a rip-off! I had the Knight of Darkness as a kid, I was aware of his knock-off status, but still had fun playing with him. There was also a C-3PO knock-off with a green head.
Slade I think was a exploitation Movie Character in the 70's.
Ripping off the Richard Roundtree's Shaft .
I look in My movie poster book of 70's trash cinema.
so is it a double rip off or just a rip off the movies?
No he wasn't, he was made up by Shindana.
Bernie Casey played "Slade" in the 80's send up "I'm Gonna Get you Sucker" but that might have been a nod to the action figure itself.

I was kind of going for Knock offs that made it into main stream catalogs and were trying to be something else. If I went for the bootlegs in dollar stores, it could have been a top 1,000.
Wasn't Slade the name of the Shaft-like character in "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka"? Maybe Keenan Ivory Wayans had one of these figures?
Great list! But the blow-molded Batman with the Mego-like head and red body is tops in my books. Even the packaging art is a rip-off of the old Aurora model box!
mike power is cooler than steve austin imo. i remember there was cheap x-men knockoff in the early 1990's called x-team. an a remember buying a 10" tarzan knockoff at the dollar store in the late 80's.
