I'm pretty discouraged with the lack of interest/product from Hasbro in the Micronaut realm.
Also, the character designs they had for that "Micronauts" cartoon that they shelved from a few years ago were pretty awful, anyway (although, those designs are pretty much what we got in those mini figures... Ugh.)... I'm kind of glad they didn't release it.
The original Micronauts designs were amazing, just update them slightly.

What if Mego licensed Micronauts from Hasbro?

Mego would need Hasbro's ok to do that. Hasbro controls the IP. And Hasbro has good working relationship with Takara Tomy. So anything Mego did would have to go through both Hasbro, AND Takara Tomy, and would have the additional hurdle of not infringing on Super 7s license. It could be done, but Marty would have to go through the proper channels.Leave a comment:

Marty actually sold the IP rights for Micronauts to Hasbro in order to bring Mego back:I briefly asked Marty about Micronauts at Mego Meet this year. He did express an interest in working with Hasbro to bring something out, but he was pretty vague, and Marty isn't the type to say no about anything, so I wouldn't put too much faith in it. But he did light up at the mention of Micronauts, so I think it's a property he enjoyed.

I don't know how much interest Hasbro has in doing anything Micronauts related currently. Apparently, according to the show runner who was in charge of the the last Micronauts animated project, they have 52 completed episodes of that series in the can, just sitting on them, currently doing a Batgirl on it and refusing to release it. He claims to have about 4-6 episodes on his drive that he had for review when the project got canned and put in cold storage that he is showing select folk. Take it with a grain of salt. Hasbro was apparently willing to take Disney's money to allow Marvel to put out the 3 volumes of the Micronauts omnibus, but that deal was made when Hasbro was having a dismal year for anything not produced by their Wizards of the Coast subsidiary, which was their only profitable division, and was likely taken to try to salvage some quarterly reports, not because they have any interest in reviving or supporting the Micronauts brand. I'm not sure Mego money has the same allure or influence as Marvel money.

The producer is Eric Rogers

I am sure Marty would be up for it and it would be cool but I don't know if the last two sets were considered a success or not. I thought they were nice toys though.I briefly asked Marty about Micronauts at Mego Meet this year.
