Those weren't destroyed, they are resin casts like all this figures with the exception of those mashups he did for an exhibit which are kitbashed creations. Also, he takes apart vintage figures to creates molds in order to have parts to create new characters.

Also, it may not be ART for everyone but he has certainly helped spawn a new sub-culture of toy art. He is no longer the only game player but certainly the most well known.

Looking forward to the Zica/Castaway figures.

I'd love to score a set of the SUCKLEs but a bit above my spending limit on MUSCLE-like figs

    Indeed. So does bad art.

Not to say that the goal would not necessarily have been reached without them, but they certainly made it a huge success, particularly with the stretch goals.

82 backers for the exclusive Sucklord on the total of 206 backers is a pretty huge percentile.

Not to mention the 13 backers pledging $275 for three Sucklord figures. That's more or less half the backers right there.

I didnt know the numbers but I definitely thought they would make an impact on the Kickstarter project. Excellent for us Mego fans

^^ They already have, both as collaborative projects where other makers riff on the $L fig and he designs/screenprints the backer, and as sarcastic and parody bootlegs of him and his toys. Whenever someone is making money, others are always looking to cash in too. Either way I think he has a blast with the silliness of it all while celebrating other artists along the way, and that's pretty cool.

As a freak [ape/monster/art/oddball [[sic]] collector who wasn't interested in the new AJ, but as one of the 13, I couldn't be more happy that CaW and the Suck have joined forces. Seems to be a superfun crossover regardless of why you kicked'n. Some want superheros, others want antiheros, all works out just fine.

I've been a Sucklord fan for some time now and have many of his pieces in my collection. I can see why some people don't care for his work; it's definitely not going to appeal to everyone. Looking back, I wish I would have bought a lot more of the early items when they first dropped.
