Central Florida Mego Meet Up in August

Just wanted to throw this out there to see about forming a

Central Florida Mego Meet Up Network Group.


Mego peeps from Daytona Beach - Orlando - Disney - Central Florida corridor.


Was thinking we could pick a date in August. ( Sat or Sun ) for a Mego lunch gathering.

Date, Time and Place TBD.

We should try and make it within 45 - 60 minute drive for all.

Share some Mego stories, and even trade or sell any Mego related items.


See if there is any interest and will go from there. No obligation.

I just found me VP of Central Florida Mego Meet Networking Group.... LadyZOD !

I'm about 45 minutes or so NORTH of Disney World in Orlando.


Depending on the feedback, maybe the Disney - Seaworld - International Drive corridor would make sense to make the mego meet up ?

I'm about 1.5 hrs south of I-4 on US27. I know I'm just about 45mins south of T-bolt, right?

Tampa-Con would be easy-peasy to meet up at in August.

Lots of guys will be there, including Ken Kelly, king of KISS painters (he painted the covers to Destroyer & Love Gun) plus tons of Famous Monsters covers.

As far as Megos, you never know what dealers will bring. Usually lots of newer toys, but there are a handful of dealers that will bring 70's and 80's toys. It's mostly a comic show.

Yea, I was thinking more of a Mego Meet Up Network Group in the Central Florida Orlando area for lunch.

Even if we could get 5 - 8 people at first would be good. Then we could build on that.


I have no problem meeting up with MM peeps at the Tampa Con Show.

Just don't want to hike the 2 1/2 our trip to look at comics.


The Orlando Toy and Comic Con is November 17, 2013 . Will be going to that. ( 15 minute drive )

heck, I'm in for the Orlando meet up, or somewhere on 27 if that's any better. I'd be up for the Orlando Con in November, too.

We haven't decided if we're doing Orlando Con or giving FX a go.

The guy that runs FX is trying to bring it back one more time it seems, and it's the same weekend as Orlando Con, on I Drive. It depends on what dealers go, since it was usually known as THE toy show in FL quite a few years past. (Met David Lee, Art Baltazar, and even the good Doc Mego there in previous years.) They haven't got a list up.

You'd think since Figures Inc is out of FL they might start hitting the bigger shows too. But I digress...

A Mego meet up at anytime is cool with me. I STILL haven't gone up to the Bok Tower to visit. I'm a bad Mego peep.
