Mego Donny & Marie (made by Mattel)

Hi,

I realize the Montgomery Ward Donny & Marie Fashions were manufactured by Mego but recently saw a Marie doll with Mego markings on the back. Does anyone know why this is - Did Mego have a partnership with Mattel?

Did Mego use this body for another fashion doll and the head got transplanted? - The doll looked exactly like the Mattel version (I wish I had pictures).
