Looks like two different shades of blue to me.

Maybe on the West coast the black was more common? I've seen lots of the black around here over the years. I've only ever seen one blue tunic in person. I have a bunch of soldier apes and only one blue in the lot with no gloves. And one blue lizard tunic without gloves. It must be a regional thing with the Apes.

blue is the 'regular' and most common of the ape tunic colors.
none of the apes in the sales pics in this thread were silver.

Do you think blue is the "regular one"? Or did you think the picture and everybody that said it was blue was mistaken? There was never any question about it being "regular"! It was definitely a variant. I just didn't know which was considered "blue" and which was "silver". Now I know the "silver" looks gray. Whoever got the one I paid for pretty much ripped the seller off, even if the mistake was the sellers. I'm going to leave very negative feedback for the transaction. I contacted the guy who got my figure and he denies getting a wrong figure, even though he buys a lot of Mego ape figures. He won the three other Soldier Ape figures the guy was selling at the same time. He also thought I wouldn't be able to find out who he was. The idiot left feedback for the item I have in my possession. That's how I knew who it was.

It looks like one is blue and one is regular to me. What do you think? I got the one in the second picture and not the one in the first.

The first picture is a blue variant. Go back and look at the picture. It's a blue tunic and gloves. The one I received is a normal one. Ebay gave me a full refund and I get to keep the figure he mistakenly sent me. I'm going to give it as a door prize a the Portland Megomeet in on November 20th and 21st. I'm not sure which day I'll give it away.

    Thanks for the help.
Yeah, what's not regular if the pic from the first post is the one you won?

Also FYI and for future reference to anyone seeking the SSA. The following link will give you a better idea as to what to look for in purchasing a Silver Soldier Ape (SSA).

That is also a blue tunic you have there. Some times depending on the lighting and quality of pictures it can be misleading to some in their quest of the SSA.

Always ask to see multiple and or better pictures when in doubt.

That is Blue Soldier Ape, the seller took pic of it with the camera flash that made it look light or blur.

The most Silver Soldier Ape's tunic and gloves are flat gray color and rare has light shinny.

The Blue ones are all shinny, I've seen regular Blue Soldier Apes has about 3-4 different blue shades from older age (stored in many years) with normal temperature room during dark blue or flesh (dead minty) and fading from heat interior and the sun that cause tunic with the gloves during slight light blue.

Glad you got him went for $21.75 shipped is GREAT deal, congrats!!!!

I don't mind that has repro bando made in China. I had few of them for 3 Soldier Apes, looks great on original Mego Apes!

Yes, I concur that he is definitely a blue tunic soldier ape. That was a great deal on him if he is all original and in great shape. Some things one just cannot judge from the picture above.

I have seen those go for upwards of $30.00 and even more before the recession kicked in.
