OK then,
Just so I know that I know.
The figures that were released on the fashion doll style skinny bodies were. Lenny, Squiggy, early KISS, and Sonny Bono?
The Captain from Captain and Tenille was on a standard 12 body?
thanks again for the input.

I'm glad to help, guys. I always see confusion over the 12" body styles, especially with different people labelling different bodies as "skinny". I think one problem is that these figures aren't nearly as widely collected as the 8 inchers, so people have less experience with them and they are a bit more "mysterious".
Cap comes on the standard 12" body, again the gallery description arises from differing definitions of "skinny body". I've heard that Mego made a mistake though, and he really should have been on a muscle body with red hands. It certainly would have helped his big head problem a bit!Leave a comment:

That is the info I was looking for cj,
Yes, by skinny body I mean the fashion doll type with cut joints at the shoulders/hips, and the clicking plastic thing internal to the rubber legs and arms. No ankle articulation at all on these fellows, just a bendable rubber foot.
I did find that the galleries say Cap America was released on a skinny body, and it sure does look like one of those bendy arm fellows to me. I find it hard to believe Mego would put a superhero on a fashion doll style body tho.
But, I don't collect the 12 inch Mego line (yet
), and in my trading experience I have had very little of the 12ers cross my path.
thanks again

That helps me THANKSPeople always get mixed up over what is considered a "skinny" body, and what's standard.
In my definition, the "skinny body" is the one with non articulated elbows, wrists, etc. that was used by the early KISS figures, Sonny Bono, Lenny and Squiggy (thanks Scott, I forgot about them).
The standard bodies, the fully articulated ones with the pointing index figure on the right hand, is used by the majority of 12" figures including: later KISS, some Batmans and Spideys, the "comic" Superman, Captain America, Luthor, General Zod, Star Trek:TMP, most of the Black Hole and Buck Rogers lines, Mighty Mightor, James Bond and Drax.
The muscle bodies are bulkier, with no pointing index figure on the right hand, and are used for: Reeves Superman, Jor-El, some Spideys, some Batmans, Jaws (Moonraker), Harry Booth (Black Hole), Buck Rogers, Tigerman, Draconian Guard, and perhaps one or two others who are escaping me right now.
Hulk of course, has his own style body.
Clear as mud?

Early KISS Paul, Gene and Ace figures as well as Sonny do indeed come on "skinny" bodies, but from the pics I've seen, it looks like Captain Daryl Dragon comes on the standard 12" body (unless he was available with both body styles like the KISS figures were, except Peter).
Not sure about any others. The male Jordache doll perhaps?Leave a comment:

trying to get some parts for 12" skinny bodies.
