Seeing all these avatars at double size reminds me of when I recently got reading glasses and could see all the stuff I've been struggling to see the last couple years. Dang, I didn't realize what half those avatats looked like until this week.

    My opinion...

It messes with the VISUAL flow of a forum. It makes it harder to read when someone has animated GIFs and obnoxious banners after everything they say. I don't mind a little text pimping, but I could care less if someone thinks their personal message is worthy of a bumper sticker after everything they say when I am just trying to read a thread. It always annoyed me when people found quotes that filled every possible line of available space as well. Do we really need to relive every line of dialogue from some scene in a movie that someone found interesting?

I understand that people could just as easily complain about my sales pitches, but I always tried to keep them to a line or two.

Thankfully we can turn these off, although I know my own Dollypimping will be affected by others doing the same thing. Not allowing pictures in signatures is just one of the quirks about the old forum that I liked. Trust me, the turn off switch will be used more often than the obnoxious signatures to follow.

Maybe I should turn off signatures for myself, but add a really obnoxious one for those people who don't mind them, or will never learn how to change them.

I'd love to use a custom avatar, but I've been Klytus for so long that I don't know if I can do it.

Problem solved! A new Klytus avatar!

I uploaded that in my Edit Avatar but it said:

"Your file of 25.4 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 19.5 KB for this filetype." without upload, it said:

"Option 1 - Enter the URL to the Image on Another Website", still not working for my avatar with 80X80 pixels.

And "Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller)" with upload browse, still not working for my 80X80 pixels animation Bald Eagle avatar too.....

Mine is 80X80 pixels for animation Bald Eagle -

Mike (type1kirk) resized that 80X80 pixels for me. but it's still not working in my Profile.

I'm trying use www.photobucket.com and www.imageshack.us but both has too long link.

I remember Brian resized animation avatars for our members in couple years ago. Can you do that for me Brian?

    Thank you for help.

Perhaps when you saved it, it saved it as a bitmap and you need to convert it back to a Jpeg-- or vice versa.
    I dunno,
    Just a wild guess.

You can easily change it in your photoshop if need be
