Re-riveting vintage playsets?

Any insight here on re-riveting vintage playsets, or a modern alternative? I'm wondering about repairs, as well as kit-bashing some parts from one playset to another.

Maybe MegoScott has suggestions. (If mods feel this is better-placed in custom discussion, please move the thread.)
