Figures Toy Co. Announces Super Friends VS Legion Of Doom!
Wow! this is EPIC... FTC is crushing it! when it comes to the DC license.... good for them too.... they just got my money with this announcement. As a kid I would killed for these, and as an adult I now have money I am very excited about these.
Very cool news. I've thought about it a little, and how I'd release the waves. For the most part I'd keep the natural pairing people would expect, but I would try to team some of the less popular pairings with the more popular ones. I would make one exception to this to accommodate the greater number of villains, and that might be how I'd open the series.
Superman/Bizarro, Braniac, Lex Luthor
Batman/The Riddler Apache/Chief Giganta
Robin/The Scarecrow Black Vulcan/Solomon Grundy
Wonder Woman/Cheetah Hawkman/Gorilla Grodd
Aquaman/Black Manta Samurai/Toyman
The Flash/Captain Cold Green Lantern/Sinestro
I'd mix these two waves of three into the mix at different times
Wow, great reveal! Gleek looks fantastic and I love they went with cloth clothing for the little guy. Robin' face is perfect and I love there is no smile. Small, very small gripe is I would like some texture in Robin' hair.
Ok, over all it's a GREAT looking figure(and I want one!). It's hard to tell because it's such a close-up...but does the head look a tad big? I'd really like to see a shot of the figure a little further away before I can decide, I hope I'm wrong.
I thought the same thing, but was kind of waiting to see. If it is slightly too big, it must not be by much since I can't tell for sure. It's not a case of obviously much too big like before. Everything else looks great, the sculpt is good, the costume looks good. I hope the body is improved some. If the head is just a slight out of proportion it's not enough to really bother me.
It also could be a case of being so used to and in love with the original Megos that anything slightly different would look off. Kind of like if a band rerecords one of your favorite band's songs, no matter how good of a job they do it will always sound a little wrong just because you are used to the original.
I'm really, really looking forward to this line. Robin looks terrific, and FTC actually made me care about Gleek.
Can't wait to see how Superman and Wonder Woman turn out (I'm on the sculpted hair team. Rooted hair is OK, but it always seems the heads are kind of huge on the bodies. Sculpting seems to be the best way to truly capture Toth's WW).
I am going to predict that Robin is on an 8" body. The gloves look the same as the Batman 66 Robin, so that's why I say this. Plus, that is what I would want! In my childhood memory mind, Robin was the same height as Batman.
Gosh this looks great!! Me and my little girl are thrilled. I think we'll both have to have one. If the rest of the line looks this good I'll have them all. This is the cartoon that introduced me to superheroes and it has a special place in my heart.
