I had the originals when I was 6 or 7, long gone now. I had been looking to get
them recently. However, I must put the pursuit on hold for the time being.
I could not resist the temptation - I am going to pre- order both 8" and 12"
just as soon as I send this, they have a spot reserved on my new shelf in the Kiss Kave.

I do anticipate a major hit on the market value of those original Mego figures. These are virtual spot on duplicates. I have the originals still in the box from my childhood, so when I get these, I will be doing a side by side comparison to see how close.Leave a comment:

This is great news! I never had the pleasure of owning any of the originals. Looking forward to these BIG TIME!Leave a comment:

I agree on both accounts.
Brian is right. The original KISS figures are not hard to find or obtain by any means.
Some people tend to forget that there is an outside world and it does not always revolve around Mego's. There are those in that out side world known as die hard KISS collectors. They could probably give two hoots less about Super Heroes or any other type of figures for that matter, but they WILL definitely buy the KISS figures because they collect KISS period.

Take it from me as some one who actually purchased and owns some of those guitars. They are way too small for Mego scale IMO.
I just thought I would give fair warning.

This is why I have all but stopped buying customs from other people. Not that there work isn't good. It is I am so tired of getting stuck with nice customs of figures that some one eventually produces for the masses. In turn leaving the customs sit on the shelf and just collect dust in terms of value and resale. It is about like playing hot potato and I am tired of being the one with the hot potato.

It's a surprise that they're putting these out considering that they really haven't had a line that sold great. Here's to hoping this turns things around.Leave a comment:

Totally agree. It's just that toy collectors had to compete with a whole separate hobby for these, the KISS collectors, and that really affected demand. Oh well, I still need vintage boxed examples of Paul and Ace (just have loose ones right now), and the "skinny body" versions of Gene, Paul and Ace, in order to be a completist, so if these new ones affect the vintage prices somewhat, I'm cool with that.
