"Planet of Vampires" isn't based on the Bava film, it's actually a combination of "Planet of the Apes" and "The Omega Man" which Atlas didn't want to pay a license for.

“Mego revealed that the upcoming Marvel waves will be exclusive to Disney stores, theme parks, and the Disney website,” Brian said. “Each series will consist of four Megos in their classic window boxes. Wave 1 of the Marvel line is expected to ship in December 2024, and four waves are scheduled for 2025, bringing a total of 20 Marvel Mego figures in the coming months. Disney will reveal characters in the coming weeks.”
The figures will be sold in 4-packs, Mego’s Marty Abrams said in the video.
Finally! I’ve been waiting for this announcement ; so the original 70s line had :
Spider-Man
Iron Man
Captain America
Thor
Hulk
Falcon
Lizard
Green Goblin
Mister Fantastic
Invisible Girl
Human Torch
the Thing
(I'm assuming Conan will not be included since Marvel lost the license)
That’s 12 - so that means 8 new figures! I expect Daredevil and some X-Men, but Scarlet Witch, Vision, Hawkeye and Black Widow would be nice! Probably a couple more villains as well.Leave a comment:

So one of the Atlas figures is female. Does that mean that the new female bandless body is ready?Leave a comment:

I collected all the Atlas comics in the sixth grade (when they came out), and after 3-5 issues the whole company was gone. Tigerman was the first Wolverine like charector with claws ,and animal like abilitiesLeave a comment:

I have been fascinated by the Atlas characters since discovering them in Jeff Rovin's Encyclopedia of Super Heroes in the mid-80s. Of course, at the time I had no idea Rovin was one of the primary edtiors at Atlas, hence their somewhat over-inflated presence in his book. Considering the history, ironic that the Atlas and Marvel announcements were made in the same video. Great coup for Brian and the Museum to be able to spread this news far and wide. I'm excited to see how all of this turns out!Leave a comment:

Also of note, some of the Atlas characters later made it into the Marvel Universe. Demon Hunter became Gabriel Demon Slayer revived by Rich Buckler and Chaykin revived The Scorpion as Dominic Fortune.

Consider me flabbergasted by the Atlas line, even more so since it was initiated by WalMart so seem to be hitching their wagon to that IP line. The Atlas Comics had a big speculator bubble push when the movie options for those comics was announced around the time of the pandemic, and prices for those books at shops and cons jumped form dollar bin fare to the $20-$50 range, but when the pandemic speculator bubble burst a year or so ago, prices on those books came crashing back to earth-some settled in the $5 range, but many are back to dollar bins. I wonder if the news that the Devilina movie is in production will fuel another speculator wave on those books. I have about 90% of the run, the magazine sized books and the Vicki title are the hardest to find and the pricier ones still. I also have some of the Atlas reboot books from circa 2010 done by Ardden Entertainment (who also did Flash Gordon for a while) ironically enough that line was launched with a big push at NYCC in 2012, but was dead after about 6 issues of each of the relaunched books and 1 event cross-over mini-series that didn't seem to get anyone to jump on and buy into it among comic retailers or fans, despite some fairly well known talent working on those books.
I've been saying for several years now that Disney/Marvel should have been using the theme park stores and Disney Stores as a potential discovery market (as opposed to the niche market the direct market comic shop is) for Marvel Comics to be discovered by young readers and families-smaller collections in the typical manga/young adult GN sized format featuring best of collections of Spider-Man, Hulk, Avengers, X-Men, etc. that come with codes for 1 month free of Marvel Unlimited to start kids reading the actual comics; so I am interested to see how well the Mego Marvel figs perform in those venues. Toys won't translate to readers (just as movies & TV doesn't translate to readers) but it is a market ripe for growth and creating new fans of the characters/properties by reaching a younger customer base. Not a fan of it for me, the older dude who wants to get those Marvel Megos, but as a way to expand the customer base I think it's great.

My word talk about digging up the dead. I remember reading on the comic book spinner rack Atlas Comics Planet of the Vampires based on the Italian movie. If I remember there were other monster titles in which most got under 5 issues. The latest was Paramount wants to create their own Comic Book cinematic universe. I enjoyed what I read way back when but man this is a stretch.
