By the way, I was thinking today that the Blue Angels idea is bunk. Consider the effort that went into the Lion Rock WW2 figures. Surely, if Mego was working on a project with the US Air Force more effort would have gone into the details than this. Mego had more pride than a lot of people think.

I still wonder if this was simply done without Mego's knowledge. With the way tools and molds were handed back and forth in China, I wouldn't be surprised if the owner of the factory with whcih Mego contracted had a cousin who had his own factory that put these bad boys out.

Why does the price sticker say "CITY DUMP"? Did this city dump sell remaindered merchandise? Or was that a name of an actual retail store? If so, it's the worst store name in history.

I think it's one of the past lives Bruce Wayne has to live through because Grant Morrison writes incoherently on occasion. But I digress.

Seriously, I sometimes wonder if Mego wasn't going to revamp AJ using the Bruce head since AJ was so butt-ugly. They did some simple sample figures to throw into vehicles and playsets and these later surfaced when the AJ line was canceled.

I did a little update to the page. We got this picture at San Diego Comic Con a few years ago when Mark Huckabone had a sealed Mystery Man for sale.

I don't think any comprehensive Mego collection is complete without one of these guys - Do I own one? NO, but I sure would like one. I don't know what it is about him but he seems to draw you in. Maybe it is the air of mystery that still surrounds him.

I Really Digg this Figure. I'm really not sure what they were thinking. It could've been an idea that got approved and then went into production incomplete and got cancelled. That would explain them being around. Other than that, He's a Man of Mystery

If I would have a guess, to me his getup looks more like a racing suit ensemble then a pilot.

To clarify, I honestly don't believe it was meant to a celebrity or a licensed item, Mego didn't chintz out on likeness.

I just wonder what he was made for, was it an abandoned project or was he a Blue Angels doll like Mike J once theorized?

I don't think he was based on anyone.

I think he was just a generic figure that was probably ment for discount shelves.
