You know, it's a really nice stock headsculpt good for a lot of characters but to be totally honest I never really liked it as Batman/Bruce Wayne. I always thought it looked more like a young Bob Hope with that long narrow nose and big chin. -

So how does this guy usually show up? In a sealed baggie? Was there like a case of them found somewhere or have they just sporadically appeared for sale at various places? I like the AJ2 idea but why would they use a head they already used without any major changes? Plus, if this were the case wouldn't there be some Mego documentation for this somewhere?

How Rare is he ? I haven't seen many. I agree with English Paul. I don't own one , but I sure do want one.Leave a comment:

I used to think he was the original Apes astronaut.....but that was proven as a definite no. Now....? I dunno....but I'm tempted to think it was meant to go with something else..a race car, or plane...something that fell through. The only reason I feel it was more than just a giveaway or knockoff (sorta), is that the helmet was two toned. Lets face it, Mego was cheap when it came to stuff like this, and if the two tone wasnt needed, the helmet would have been all one color.Leave a comment:

Perhaps he was going to be a sort of Jet Jungle promoting some product in the US or abroad that eventually fizzled.Leave a comment:

I checked the US Patent and Trademark Offices database, looking for a trademark for "City Dump" and found that it was indeed a trademarked name for a general retail operation, with an office in New York City, apparently operating in the late 1970s:
Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)
...Maybe Mego cooked up a cheap product for them to 'dump' overstocked parts, or to blow-out an unused exclusive?Last edited by AcroRay; Feb 2, '09, 2:09 PM.Leave a comment:
