I opened a carded Chopper on a beat-up card to complete my set of loose S&H. I already had a set MOC. It felt great to release him after all these years. Of course I won't do that with any mint carded figures, regardless of who it was. -
Yesterday I bought a couple of carded vintage Star Wars Klaatus (different robe variations) with the intention of opening the one that is the variant to the other loose one I already have. Now I have them home I can't bring myself to do it. They cost me a fraction more than a good loose one would cost so the financial loss is minimal, but somehow it just doesn't seem right right to open it, a dilemma that never bothered me with the Megos I have opened. I would NEVER open a vintage figure, unless the packaging was completely wasted. There are plenty of loose figures out there. Pass the MOC examples onto a collector that will appreciate them.Leave a comment:

I never open my carded Megos. I have had no trouble finding them in good loose condition for when I want a nice loose specimen. As Brian said, if there's a figure you have carded that you'd prefer to have loose, you can find someone who'd gladly trade you an opened one, and then some! Even with the so-called "common" carded figures, I think it's best to leave them sealed.

Man, I dig those vintage price stickers and try hard to get MOC/MIB with them on. Then I REALLY get to pretend I'm living in the pastLeave a comment:

i like to buy figures on a beat up card or figures that have broken limbs or loose emblems, that way i can justify opening them and not feel bad about it. within the last year, i've ripped open a 1975 captain america, 1979 penguin, french carded hulk, 1979 superman, french carded the thing and mr. fantastic and 1979 batman all mint on card. i like mine fresh!!Leave a comment:

My thought has always been that a happy toy is a played with toy, and almost all of my toys are happy ones.Leave a comment:

I never open sealed figures. With dirt common figures I don't see any problem tho, but otherwise it'd be a real shame to open them upLeave a comment:
