Battlestar vs. Buck Rogers ... which was/is your fav ?
BSG. I liked the 1st season of Buck Rogers, but when they changed the premise in the 2nd season it got hokey. I mean they took a great character and turned her in to a space stewardess.
I love them both, but I'd have to choose Battlestar Galactica because of the series thought provoking premise and the great chemistry the cast shared together on screen, and of course, the Cylons.
On the other hand, Buck is great, and his Starfighter is my favorite space ship design out of the two programs.
I had the pleasure of meeting Gil Gerhard, Erin Gray, and Felix Sillia at a sci-fi show a few years ago, and get my original Buck Rogers 1 sheet poster autographed.
I'm still, gushing that Erin signed it "Love, Erin Gray"--after I told her that I had such a HUGE crush on her on that show. What a beautiful woman, she wore the tightest, shinest, sexiest 25th Century jumpsuits in the galaxy...
OK, Buck Rogers is better, Lol.
BTW, Felix Sillia (twiki) told me he played the little ape child that spots Charlton Heston (Taylor) sneaking around the Ape City, in the original Planet of the Apes movie. Cool!

I was a big fanatic for BSG for a long time ~ Didn't like the show when it first came out, being too much a SW copy. When it grew out of its SW birthpangs mid-way through the first year, getting settled in with more secondary characters and it's own rhythm, it definitely became more than the sum of it's parts...
Buck..? Nice, frothy mindless fun (and yes, Starfighters and Erin Gray rocked..), but it never held a candle to BSG.
The real question is..: Which was worse? G1980 or Buck's 2nd year...?
I like BSG better. They both had cool aspects but Galactica seemed more realistic to me and that was my interest at the time. One problem with the cylons (I really did love these guys) that bothered me. . . how could you not get away from these things? They were SLOW (kinda like metal sleestak!) JOHN
I liked both as a kid. I've not seen classic Galactica since the 80's, but I did have the misfortune of watching an episode of BR and then made the mistake of watching the movie as an adult. I gotta say, camp is fun, but Buck went WAY WAY overboard in that department. So much potential, so badly wasted...
I was a big fan of both but BSG was my favorite of the two. BSG just seemed to have the better spaceships and I always liked the design of the Cylons, very cool.
If your going for camp and hot bods I'd go with Quark over both. He had two Hot Bettys. Everyone knows a pair beats one of a kind.... Or maybe two pair if you look at it another way.
I really enjoyed both,. . .back in the day. I liked the complexity and slightly more serious feel of the BSG over Buck though. But give me Wilma Deering in the Mini. . .and I'll pick BR for sure!
Galactica sucked least. Twikie gimme a break.... Dr Theopolis? The mega brain that ran the city was a coaster with LEDS?..... Wilma Deering was the BEST fighter the earth defense force had? Gary Coleman???????? UUUGGGGG
I was more into Buck as a kid and I still prefer it as an adult. I like the original BSG but Buck has a fun cheese atmosphere I enjoy. It's a very light series, albeit flawed but it's almost like a Matt Helm spoof at times.
