I don't care about Justice League, I don't care about Avengers 3, I don't care about the Han Solo movie, I don't care about anything else right now...except for this movie...YEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

I hardly call it derivative...sure, it's familiar territory, that's why it's an ALIEN movie...but it also looks fresh. This one has an outdoor expedition with greenery around, never seen in previous Alien flick (maybe a bit in Prometheus). So yes, it's the familiar Alien flick...but with new elements as well.

    I wanna see it now!!!!!!!!!!

It looks cool, but...I am concerned it may be a bit too derivative of previous Alien films. Where Prometheus was a bit TOO disconnected from the franchise (in addition to its other problems), this one seems suddenly a bit too close.

I dunno; I'm holding out hope that it will be good. And that it will redeem the fail of Prometheus. Ridley Scott's still got great potential, that's for sure - The Martian was excellent. So he may save this thing yet.

All I'm gonna say is Holy S**t! Ridley Scott still has "it" when it comes to dealing with Aliens.

So... where's Dr. Shaw. Or do I not want to be spoiled?

That red herring with David stopping the woman from choking was great.

I'm only a moderate Alien fan... and I'm quite squeamish overall... but I think that's one of the best trailers I've ever seen.

And, yes, a lot of that is based on it's "Alien franchise" authentic tone... but... yeah... it's still just so much nailed what a 2017 Alien trailer should feel like IMHO.

Thanks for that friggin awesome scene...definitely has that Alien vibe of past films.

I though it was going the Kane (John Hurt) route... luckily android Walter was there to "have her back" sort of speak, lol.

Love it...I hope they make sequels and remakes forever...

If that's the case, which I'm hoping it is, the teaser/trailer misses the mark. Maybe the next trailer in the next couple of months gives us a better idea what this movie is about. Because as it stands, it looks to be more of the same old, same old. I've encountered other people around the web that shares the same feeling about the teaser/trailer that I do.

^Acro - From what I've read, the trailer is not representative for what goes on. There were stage shots early of the Engineers fighting the aliens...at a temple IIRC. The trailer looks to be redux teaser bait.

^^^ This trailer does nothing for me, too. In fact, this movie looks like it was directed by some hack director and NOT by Ridley Scott. Plus there doesn't seem to be anything new here. From what I can tell from the trailer we get another diverse crew exploring an alien planet where the usual events unfold (someone gets infected and gives birth to an alien, and people die off one by one) with the requisite screaming and gore.

I truly hope this movie is more than your typical monster-on-the-loose movie. I really hope Scott has some genuine surprises in store for us.

Sadly this trailer did nothing for me...it all looks like the same stuff we've seen before. A couple scenes looked like re-enactments from the 1979 original. I'll still go see it regardless.
