Best POTA TV episode..?

For me it's a toss up-- I love "The Trap", but "The Tyrant" is also pretty amazing. Percy Rodriguez as Aboro is probably one of the best performances in the entire series, in my opinion. It also features a gorilla soldier uniform for Aboro, never seen anywhere else in POTA history. I love the brighter, plum-like tones to his leather outfit as opposed to grape colored, standard gorilla uniform. Really nice touch.
Another episode of note is "Tomorrow's Tide", in which Burke and Verdon become workers in a forced labor camp on the beach, spearing fish-- Gotta like that one just on general principle.Though I could never imagine spearing my fish with gorillas pointing rifles at me, I do enjoy the hell outta that episode. Jay Robinson's performance as Bandor is second only to Rodriguez's Aboro in the annals of POTA TV series history.

Yeah, that's a great one. When the POTA TV series first came out on DVD (over 10 years ago.. wow!) I immediately bought it but was worried that it wouldn't hold up for me. I enjoyed it immensely as a kid, but hadn't seen it since. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I was thoroughly entertained when rewatching them all. I agree that The Trap was the best of the bunch.Leave a comment:

Couldn't agree more with everything you said. The Trap is definitely my favorite POTA TV episode. Another reason I like it was the subway theme, which also briefly featured in the second movie, Beneath the POTA. I am one of the few that really like that movie.Leave a comment:

Best POTA TV episode..?
I've only got a couple on my iPod now, but just watched "The Trap" the other night on the train coming down here to TX (rare vacation...).
LOVED Mark Lenard's interaction with James Naughton.. great interaction. Excellent drama, nice build of anger and suspense. Anyone who loved Lenard's role as Urko will probably agree this is his finest episode.
Aside from the pilot episode, it's my favorite of the bunch..!! I liked the television show about as much as the first two movies. I know Roddy McDowell really enjoyed doing the series as well, providing more depth to Galen than he ever did to Cornelius.Tags: None
