I like it too. Watched the original for the first time from Netflix last summer and sort of generally enjoyed it. Never saw it when it was on in the 80s. I was in college and had no TV/time for TV as an undergrad.

Original felt a little cheesy and dated. I like the political subtext of both the original and the new one. Digging the slickness of the new one, but get the feeling that 20 years from now it'll feel a little cheesy also.

FlashForward is the standout new sci fi of this year.

The original miniseries told more that made sense in 4 hours than the 7 hours they've showed in this season so far. No one questions how they can be human? that was brought up in the first 2 minutes of seeing them in the original. where are the doctors and scientists who would question this. how come no one asks? with all these ships here in, are you refugees, relief workers or INVADERS? what are they after? last time it was water and food(people) what do they want this time? Much too slow of a build up, especially with all the idea that they've been here in small amounts for years. I'll watch it but it doesn't grab me like the 80's one did, even the series back then.

The show is scheduled to have some cool guest stars coming, just stay tuned. (like Caprica this new offshoot has had a slow start, but is building).

It's enjoyable, but not much excitement and tends to drag on certain scenes.

I like the new show a lot! There's a lot of political stuff hidden behind it, that some People might not pick up on. But I can't go into that here without causing trouble.

I'm getting that "Life On Mars" feeling. You know, when ABC screwed that up by putting on and then off for a few months and the plots seemed to really draaaaaaaag (revealing very little info) until it got to the point where they gave up and pulled the plug on it?
I'm going to be surprised if V makes it to next season. I am in for the ride but I hope they haven't already screwed it up.

I too am a fan of the original. I agree that one of the problems with the new series is that we already know they're up to no good. There won't be an "oh no they're lizards" moment with this one. I agree that the evil lizard babe is creepy/hot, but I lost interest in it. I may be alone in this, but I would have liked to see alot of the original actors return in a "years later" series. That way, the "road" is going somewhere unknown. You can use new technology, change the uniforms, improve the lizard make-up, and still be true to the original material. Uniforms change over time. Technology changes. Better make-ups would be easily accepted. And who doesn't want to see the resistance STILL fighting, or maybe facing a new enemy such as the ones mentioned by Martin. The lizards' enemy isn't necessarily our friend. Maybe they need what we have too. Three armies fighting for the Earth's resources.

    I'm done talking. You're welcome.

That's disappointing...I finally got to see the original two part mini-series a couple of nights ago and thought it was very good...especially considering it was made in the 80's.

Love the original but I could see a modern version kicking butt, just not this version.

The big part of the problem was the original V was a mini series, in the first hour Diana was scarfing down mice. It was fast paced and well done. The resulting weekly series was regrettable and painted itself in a corner.

This one has pacing problems, we all know they're Lizards, we all know they're up to something very much not good. Kudos on the creepy Anna character, she's great but let's get going shall we?
