Meant to come back and thank you for posting this, but started reading the original Star Wars script that was linked there and couldn't stop! Saw the whole movie again in my mind's eye (with the original effects)! Made me remember just how special that era was.
Kids, if only you could experience it all the way we did, before every little piece of "lore" was spelled out for you and your imagination could run wild. All I needed to know about what came before was provided by the brief quotes from the "Journal of the Whills" and Princess Leia in the preface of the novelization and Obi-Wan's comments (which were true... from a certain point of view). The history I pictured beat the socks off the prequels for me! The John Williams scores still make them worth a watch though! -
