Even if I agreed with that statement, (which I do not), the other two posted photos of Natalie blow away most photos I've ever seen of Carrie.

Natalie has the delicate bone structure, features, and elegance and a classic female beauty.

Even in the bald shot this is evident.

Ask yourself this: On her BEST day, do you think Carrie would look half as good sporting a bald head as Natalie does?

I think not.

It's purely a matter of taste, isn't it? Some people really dig bald chciks, for instance.

Portman has lots of conventionally pretty attributes that do not add up to sexy for me.

I don't know why you posted that picture of a semi-bald Portman (she looks like a teenage boy)...you are not helping your cause there...lol...

Fisher was very pretty back in the day and had (and still has tons more personality) than Portman, which goes a long way for me. While Portman may be conventionally attractive I don't find her "sexy" at all. As for Leia's "*****yness"? That's tons of sexy. Her scenes with Harrison Ford were phenomenal.

Portman and Hayden Christiansen? You'd have better performances if you took a couple of action figures and made em smooch.

Compared to this? This is classic Hollywood romance. They might as well be Bogart and Bacall, it's so good.

Blame a lot of that on declining Lucas storytelling, but also on superior casting (and a different director in Kirshner).

I could not disagree more. I prefer my romance... well... romantic, not irritatingly *****y. Although I will freely admit that the fireplace scene between Anakin and Padme in Episode II was a bit much... even for me.

But i always took Anakin's "poor courtship skills" to be a natural reflection of his character's experience (Ie: 10 year old boy taken away from a life of slavery by Jedi knights to live a monk-like existence that stresses "No attachments and No passions). This kid hasn't exactly had a lot of experience mackin' the ladies.

His romantic clumsiness (difficult as it is for some to take) makes perfect sense, and it actually is (one of several) character flaws that makes his fall from grace possible.

Anakin's lack of cynisism and (borderline) sickening tendency toward romance makes his transformation into the monstrous Darth Vader (murderer of children) all the more terrible.

I totally agree. Come to think of it, Anakin and Padme made twins and we only had that?! LOL

Although I have a huge crush on Natalie Portman I still think Princess Leia is hotter cause of the attitude. The script on the older movies were better as well so I kept thinking on the entire trilogy (1-3) why does Anakin and Padme have these corny dialogues? and besides that, Anakin really has poor courtship skills he should have used aggressive negotiations... with the light saber
