I was a bit worried about this one.
I mean, even Bale seemed on edge about it.
But hey, what do you know, I liked it.
I won't give away too much, don't want to spoil it for ya, so here's something about the general feel of the movie.
It's a rollercoaster ride.
Almost non-stop action, most of it pretty cool.
I have to say, this time the CG really gelled with the theme and mood. It's grim and nasty! A bit too reminiscent of Transformers, there's even some of them walking around in the movie, but it's OK, it worked.
If you like action, you'll have fun.
Now, I would have enjoyed a quiet moment here and there, some dialogue, so that is something I missed, and hope to see on the DVD. To be honest, I was a bit tired at the end!
Another minor point: I think I've had a Bale overdose these last years, 'cause maybe it would have been better with another actor in the lead. Actually, the character of Marcus gets so much screen time, and is also quite interesting, so I kinda focused more on him. Interesting plot about this character!
Yelchin is good as Reese. He looks a bit like Biehn, and he's quite the trooper at a very young age already.
And can I say it?
Arnie. Yes, Arnie....
Be ready for some 1984 Terminator goosebumps....
There are some nice hints at previous movies, too.
So I think most fans will get what they want out of it.
Go see it!
